Some places are haunted by ghosts, while some people are haunted by loneliness. Legend has it that the souls of those who have committed suicide in the massive forest of Aokigahara are trapped between its increasingly hungry roots. Now that Alan’s troubled girlfriend, Masami, has committed suicide there, she comes back as a vengeful spirit, hell-bent on ruining every friendship that he has in Tokyo. But to what end…?

    As I said in my review for #1, if this was a new vertigo, or even image book, there’d be a huge buzz around it.

    This is what is wrong with comics. People are too busy buying their 12th batman book of the month that they’ve no money left to try out something like this.

    I was reading some comments from Kody Chamberlain who does SWEETS, which got a reasonable amount of buzz, yet he is seeing very few sales and practically no money. Makes me sad.
