THE CREEP #0

A young boy puts a gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger. The police don’t care. Not about his death or the death of his best friend two months earlier. The dead boy’s mom seeks help from an old flame that’s employed as a detective. What she doesn’t know is that he suffers from acromegaly—a physical deformity resulting in brutish facial features at mid-life. Will his freakish appearance get in the way of solving the case?

  1. Sounds interesting. Looked it up, acromegaly is a real thing. I wonder if the guy who plays the boyfriend on Girls has it.

  2. I’m giving this a shot because of John Arcudi, and I’ve heard nothing but good stuff about Case.

  3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brute_Man As a bonus, MST3K riffed this movie back in the day, also.

  4. If my shop has a copy, i’ll give it a try. nice to have another crime book out.

  5. This sounds like a fun read, getting alittle burned out on all the superhero shit lately….

  6. I’m in. Concept sounds interesting enough and the nice cover put it over for me

  7. POTW.

  8. Last second pick up for me. Glad I grabbed it. Is this an on-going series?

    • Yup, this was a collection of the stories that ran in DHP, but next month the story continues with the #1 issue. I haven’t read how long it is supposed to go, or if it is just gonna continue as long as sales are good.

    • Good news! I really liked this. Will definitely look for #1 next month!

  9. I thought this was a wonderful primer issue. The story was intriguing, affecting, and left me wanting more. Arcudi and Case did a great job introducing characters that felt three demensional, and that really grabbed me. I hope this continues for a good while, it seems like it will be a worthy addition to the sometimes lacking and cliched detective-fiction genre.
