From DCU Holiday Bash II (1998)
In this wonderful two-page story from DCU Holiday Bash II, Ty Templeton wrote, drew, colored, and lettered this apparently annual meeting between Santa Claus and Darkseid. This page is just adorable and seems to indicate that Santa Claus is at least as powerful as Darkseid if he was able to get around all of the ruler of Apokolips’ many defense systems. It seems that, no matter if his target is naughty or nice, Santa will always find a way to make his appointed rounds not just here on Earth but across the universe.

That’s why it’s so hard to write great Santa comics – he’s too powerful and can overcome any obstacle and is neigh indestructible.
I’d like to see a write bring Santa’s power level down. Maybe have him face real-life issues. Maybe give up the globe trotting sleigh and simply walk. Walk from one side of the country to the other. See the world like the rest of us do.

I’m disappointed there were no holiday specials form DC and Marvel this year.
Holiday cheer didn’t survive the reboot.
