IGN reports details of Marvel's long-awaited Thor: Tales of Asgard animated movie. Teased in the extras on previous animated releases, the direct-to-video feature focuses on the thunder god's early days, before ol' Dad cast him down to Midgard. Looks like a loose adaptation of Akira Yoshida and Greg Tocchini's Thor: Son of Asgard series from 2004.
The sneak preview of this project on other Marvel videos really got my attention, and I'm pleased the feature is finally coming to life. Here's hoping there's also a Captain America animated feature in the works.

Looking forward to this. Hopefully the bonus episode for Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes is a prelude to a full Blu-ray relaese for this series and that it is presented here in HD rather than SD as well.

This sounds interesting. Say what you will about comic movies, but when they promote, we comic fans sure do get some cool shit once in a while.
I’ll admit the sword is very He-Man, but other characters are allowed to raise a sword and strike a pose. Also, Thor came first. So who’s the poser? Respect!
