October 14, 2011 4:50 pm I love Blonde Phantom. If you're put off by Golden Age prices (I'm not sure what of her stories Marvel has reprinted) Paul Tobin uses quite often in his Marvel Adventures stories and she cropped up in the Timely 70th anniversary issues in All Select.
April 14, 2011 11:35 am At least they've collected all of Rucka's run. That's more than even Perez has managed.
April 14, 2011 11:30 am If you can't afford the Archives, they've started releasing the Wonder Woman Chronicles trades, which cover the same material in a cheaper format. The first one is out and another one appears to be coming in December.
March 9, 2011 11:35 pm I love Samnee's art! I was lucky enough to get a Black Widow head sketch at Heroes Con when he was sketching for Hero Initiative. It's interesting to watch him in person. Like someone said, the blacks look very abstract closeup until you pull away and get the full effect.

He has done a couple of black&white works -- most recently Area 10 with Christos Gage for Vertigo Crime. He also did an arc of Queen and Country. It's not quite the same style as his sketches, I'll admit.

January 18, 2011 3:44 pm Behind Emma/January is Jason Flemyng as Azazel and behind Mystique is Angel Salvadore played by Zoe Kravitz
November 15, 2010 1:36 pm Drunken Dream is a collection of short stories by legendary female manga creator Hagio Moto. It's a beautiful collection with an array of stories from her long career. The Fantagraphics collection is a hardcover that reminds me more of a textbook, strong paper and not quite oversized. If you like stories about dealing with loss and family and unexpected endings, you might enjoy it. Also includes a lengthy interview w/ Hagio Moto about her work. Well worth the money honestly.

As a longtime LSH fan, it pained me to give up on Adventure Comics, but I really haven't liked Levitz's past Legion stories. And I'm loving the new regular LSH series, so it's strange. It's like reading two completely different LSH series for me and not in a good way. I've stuck with Adventure through Superboy and the filler run and finally just had to admit it wasn't working for me.

August 31, 2010 2:29 pm I was at Baltimore con for the weekend, so while I was surrounded by fellow comics fans and others reading, I never had time to slow down. Finding time to sit down and take a breather was a challenge sometimes. I made up for it this morning by reading Jersey Gods on the commute in. But I do know what Ali means about NSFPT reading materials. I don't know about comics, but I know there are a few manga that I've left at home for precisely that reason.
June 7, 2010 4:33 pm ScorpionMasada: There were 40 issues in Gotham Central, so there's potentially one more hardcover. I hope they finish off the series. They've been beautiful collections so far.
