August 29, 2012 9:28 am While I do look forward to this show. But ifanboy posting that image from the other "Shield" tv series got me more excited. For a second I thought there was news about a return of what I feel was the best tv drama ever.
July 17, 2012 10:13 am That 10 minutes was better than the last two movies. Dolph still gets props for his trashtacular movie though. This goes to show that it wasn't Thomas Jane's fault his Punisher movie wasn't very good.
March 15, 2012 11:11 am Some good choices there. I would have gone with NIGHTWING: A KNIGHT ALONE. The trade reprints the first issues from the first Nightwing monthly by Chuck Dixon and Scott Mcdaniel. It has Nightwing in Bludhaven for the first time. It also sets up alot of the supporting characters Dick would have in the series for a long time. One might argue that Bludhaven itself is a supporting character to Nightwing just as Gotham city is for Batman.
February 28, 2012 8:08 am I recently remodeled my basement. After going through my books I have to say I've never had them as organized as I do now. But I have to admit that now that I can get a better handle on my collection, it is time for a purge. Especially my trades. I love having my trades/hardcovers on a shelf. It just looks nice. An ipad doesn't decorate a room like my books do. But I do have to filter the pile. Maybe some donations to the library are in order. The best part? If I ever do want to suddenly reread those trades I can just check them out of the library. On another note, one part of the hobby I think over time will be lost is the thrill of the hunt. Remember the fun of going to a con or a comic shop you find on vacation and going through the bins to find a particular book you searched for years for. And finding it at a cheap price too.
December 23, 2011 7:39 pm I collected Hellblazer for almost 20 years. Left just before the Milligan run started. The book had been running on fumes for awhile for my tastes. Then I hear Milligan's run has been great. Dammit!
December 15, 2011 12:34 pm While these are great books to get the absolute treatment, I feel there is still alot of older material that DC is neglecting to put out in this format. While not mentioned here, is there really a large vocal fanbase out there that demanded a FInal Crisis Absolute? Some stories I would love to see in the absolute format: Alan Moore's TOP TEN. 12 issues is the perfect size and Gene Ha's art would be prefect in this large format. SLEEPER By Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. Although this team is quite popular over at Marvel I know Sleeper as an absolute would be a ling shot. GREEN LANTERN/GREEN ARROW by Denny O'neil and Neal Adams. I'm actually surprised this hasn't already happened. Yes, there was that slipcase from over 10 years ago. But it's long out of print. DC has put out several hardcover editions of Adam's work in recent years. This one seems like a no-brainer. GRREN ARROW: THE LONGBOW HUNTERS. Maybe too short for an absolute. But a deluxe hardcover with Grell's painted artwork would look beautiful.
