March 25, 2013 2:44 pm One thing I always appreciated is the extra work the AC team did for the collected editions. Both the hardcover and softcovers had all new covers by Alex Ross. Introductions and a lot of extra material. Beautiful looking books. I have all the hardcovers except the very hard to find low print run of the Confession hardcover. Maybe with this new series DC will consider a new printing.
March 11, 2013 1:10 pm Great point. Have an emotional storyline like DITF. On top of his own son just dying. Instead of seeing what interesting stories we can get from this, they are basically going to ignore all that for a year. And as much as I like Harper Row I don't want to see her become Robin, Batgirl jr, or any kind of superhero. She has the potential to be an interesting character just the way she is now. Just the way she is.
March 11, 2013 11:52 am I've loved Snyder's Batman but this one has me on the fence about dropping the title. First of all I don't need another origin story. The Amazing Spiderman movie was good but I couldn't get into it because of how many times I`ve seen that origin replayed in the last ten years alone. Another problem. 11 part story! With how much of the origin of Batman has been done in almost 75 years, does Snyder really need 11 isues to retell it with his own spin. Remember how good Miller`s Year One was. And it was only 4 issues. Not even oversized. 4 standard issues of great storytelling.
March 4, 2013 11:27 am At the start of the show you mentioned this episode was sponsored by Harbinger Wars from Valiant Comics. As a big fan of the Vaiant relaunch I was looking forward to the "word from our sponsor" portion. As I rarely hear anyone on your show mention their books. I hear many other podcasts rave about them. So I was slightly disappointed when it sounded like Josh just quickly ran through the ad with no comment from anyone about their views on the books. I know it sounds alittle unfair. There is no rule that says you guys have to like or even read these books. Otherwise I enjoy the show as always.
November 27, 2012 10:58 am Pretty good up until they have to declare bankruptcy.
November 27, 2012 10:56 am I always thought a movie could be made about the history between Stan and Jack in the 60's with the rise of Marvel. 2 friends that start something together that is extremely successful yet one get all the credit and the other is left behind. Think "Social Network" but in the 1960's. Name for that movie? "Marvels".
November 8, 2012 11:37 am I started reading Hellblazer around issue 50. Stopped around issue 250. Of course after I leave I hear how good milligan's run has been. Kinda saw this news coming for some time. The last of the books that started vertigo. God, I miss vertigo from those days. This news makes me feeling nostalgic. Hopefully the book is given the grand send off it deserves.
October 8, 2012 10:15 am Long time Batman fan. But new to digital comics. Question. Each story is said to be only 10 pages. Yet on comixology each story is listed as having 23 or 24 pages. Are the rest ads?
