Wow. Easily a contender for worst comic of the year? The writing is diabolical. Full of coincidences, unengaging characters and…

May 27, 2016 10:15 am Found the Pilot just okay. Couldn't put my finger on it, but I think the brooding of the main character is the main stumbling block so far. All of the more manic set pieces were brilliant, the larger than reality townspeople were great, but all centring around the least compelling character. At least your guys love for it, particularly Josh, does make me want to commit to my annual attempt to get past the first twelve issues.
August 18, 2013 11:07 am Really enjoying this series. Pitched just right. Only slight gripe is how empty Gotham seems. Streets empty of cars/people, restaurants with only one table. Minor thing but a bit noticeable. Otherwise it's great - far preferred over the last few incarnations.
May 25, 2012 3:40 pm See people keep telling me that - I even read some annotated step-by-step guide - but it's still reading like a mess. I love the idea of pulling all the series/decades together in a coherent way, but I feel this has not succeeded. I love the introduction of Damien, I quite like Batman Inc as a concept, but the grand scheme of things has just seemed messy to me. And more worryingly, it's been quite dull - no matter how clever something is trying to be, it should never be as dull as some of this run has been. Saying that, as per the original review, this book was close to perfect - but Morrison's run out of steam before.
May 25, 2012 3:31 pm I think it was - as I say there was a tatty old copy of (what I guess was) the pilot episode - he whizzed around his house to tidy up, if I recall? There was also a 1990s Captain America too, with a quite dull fight in a courtyard. Worth tracking down the series?
