November 19, 2012 10:10 pm I quit buying all DC comics when they went up to 3.99. When the price went back down I never got back on any of them (including American Vampire). I said I would buy them in trade from now on but that never happened either. Like a worthless drug, once I found out what I was missing, I realized I wasn't missing that much at all.

October 8, 2012 12:40 pm If I want to see an image of the latest killing in The Walking Dead, I'll download it. Beyond that I can't read comics or books on the screen, even with a 27" iMac. I like the way pages turn. Always have, always will.

August 29, 2012 2:11 pm I realized about a year ago that single comics look nice and colourful on the shelf if put in current bags/boards. So I abandoned the concept of long boxes altogether. They look nice even without the bags/boards. Now if it's not good enough to make the shelf then I give it away or recycle it. This rarely happens.

July 3, 2012 10:19 pm Comic books have become about the Writers and Artists more than the actual stories. It was events like Countdown and Crisis that stopped me from buying monthlies. I avoid the PREVIEWS mag, instead buying what I'm still interested in a few months later, which is virtually nothing at that point. Vertigo forced me to stop buying their monthlies when they started putting large banners across precious Jock covers. I don't care about the Marines, I don't care about Green Lantern. I buy comics for artwork. So I buy most of my stuff from amazon.com in hardcover when available.

February 28, 2012 5:45 pm DC lost me when their prices went up a few yrs ago. When they finally went down again I didn't feel the need to jump back on. I fully intended to pick up Batwoman but it was delayed for so long I eventually lost interest in that too. Prior to the price increase I had been picking 10 or more monthly superhero titles from DC. I'm down to 0 and I don't feel like I'm missing anything at all. I know there 's good stories but I'm involved in other good stories.

January 19, 2012 1:36 am Gaming tables has always been something to keep me away from a LCS, but lately it's places like amazon.com and the prices that are driving me away from even the best of the local stores. I know the staff appreciate my business but it doesn't amount to $ for me, and that's all that matters. I want a better deal.
