February 1, 2013 11:43 am I know there's plenty of people who don't like the character, but has any character had a better run over the last ten years or so than the Punisher? He's consistently had great books on the stands since "Welcome Back, Frank" from some of the best writers in the industry. Ennis, Aaron, Remender, Rucka...so much quality. I'd argue maybe only Daredevil has come close to that consistency.
October 30, 2012 6:46 pm Gotta say, pretty disappointed with this. I find Singer to be a pretty boring filmmaker (X1, X2 and Superman Returnzzzzzzz....). My excitement for this film has definitely decreased.
October 3, 2012 6:56 pm Yeah I see that we were basically saying the same thing at the same time. It's just frustrating cause I know Jason Aaron and the other writers are better than this and would realize all of this too. I kept waiting as that last scene played out for Cyclops to give it to Captain America and Wolverine but he didn't and that's so frustrating.
October 3, 2012 5:51 pm Cap's lines about the ends don't justify the means really bothers me. Cyclops was right, what he predicted the Phoenix would do happened...the things he and the others did after becoming the Phoenix Five wouldn't have happened if not for Cap's aggression. It wasn't Scott's plan to take the Phoenix force, he meant it for Hope. He had it forced upon him after the Avengers actions. All of this would have been avoided if Cap hadnt shown up to Utopia with an army and insisted on taking Hope while not even hearing Scott out.
October 3, 2012 12:35 pm Bravo! Excellent summation of why this vilification of Cyclops was horribly executed. I've been thinking the same thing myself this entire series. Can you really blame someone for losing it if all you do is antagonize them? If you keep poking them when they've done nothing wrong. I couldn't stand Captain America during the talk with Scott at the end of this issue...very disappointing that with all of the writing talent on board no one could draw these rational conclusions.
July 15, 2012 11:07 pm Been reading this book since it first hit the stands and have loved reading it month after month for all these years....however, with this issue I'm a little concerned about where Kirkman is taking this book and if it's something I will continue to enjoy reading. At this point, Kirkman has killed almost every character who I still care about and am emotionally invested in. Rick, understandably so, is a broken man who barely registers as human anymore. Michonne, badass that she is, is basically a one-dimensional robot designed to look cool. Carl is a sociopath. With the exception of Andrea and maybe Maggie, I find myself not really caring about the rest of the cast anymore, nor am I really rooting for any of them for any reason other than that they are the stars of the book. Kirkman has to get me emotionally hooked back into this world and give me some people to care about again like Dale or Tyreese.
March 12, 2012 10:33 am I thought the barn locking was weird too but I just assumed that he did it to give himself more time to do what he needed to do. Anyone could have seen the door open and the fake escape attempt could have been ruined.
October 21, 2011 11:21 am Great job, Josh. A mean-spirited douchebag with a ten year old's sense of humor. Pathetic getting his rocks off making fun of people who are enjoying something they love. He probably doesn't have anything he feels that kind of passion for so anyone who does feel that needs to be mocked. Screw him!
October 13, 2011 5:29 pm Instead of giving the book over to another relic from the 80's/90's, why don't they give it to one of their up-and-coming guys? If you're trying to hook in new readers and create excitement, I don't see why these are the people they are going to. They've got guys like Edmonson and Costa, why not give them a shot? This is like if Marvel had decided to put Chris Claremont on Ultimate Spider-man instead of Bendis back in 2000.
