Comic Books Aren’t Late Enough Anymore
March 5, 2012 6:03 pm @TNC: Hey, my schedule is like clockwork, buddy. 4 weeks to do pencils and inks. 1 week to do colors. Any delays I've had in 2011 were due to traveling great distances to see people like you. Or giving birth to a human.
It's more complicated than just being trained to hit a deadline. Artists these days tend to have ADD. And the reading audience don't penalize them for that. Ex: If you guys stopped buying Joe Mad books, I'm sure he'd be more inspired to hit a steady deadline on more than 3 books per millennium.

January 16, 2012 3:33 pm Relax. We're just getting back on schedule after 2011's delays. 24 comes out next month, 25 the month after. Vol.5 was solicited this month, and 26 will be in the next Previews.

December 9, 2011 11:03 am Thanks. Yeah, we're rectifying the lateness issue in 2012. We're going back to our original every-5-weeks release schedule.

Separating the Creator from the Created
November 23, 2011 7:48 pm Great read. I've debated this topic a lot in the last year, and it's a strange dilemma. On one hand, as a creator, I have a voice and beliefs of my own that are impossible to keep out of my work. And really, a lot of creators (myself included) feel like it's really their purpose to affect the world around them with their work and words.
On the other hand, it's such a headache to deal with the public lynching that can result from one honest opinion stated in 140 characters or drawn into a comic.
It's strange, and a dilemma that previous generations of comic creators haven't had to deal with at anywhere near this scale. And that's a good thing.

UPDATED: Rob Guillory’s UN-Rejected TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
September 27, 2011 2:10 pm Thanks, guys.
I would LOVE to do a TMNT one-shot, and had talked to IDW about possibly doing one in 2012. But looks like it's not to be. Too much political headache. That said, the IDW guys were awesome, and I'd work with them in a heartbeat.
