This book just keeps killing it. I was never that big an Age of Apocalypse fan and for the most…

January 10, 2013 10:41 pm Neal Adams drew my batman. When I think of batman, it's the sleek, tall eared, yellow chest symboled Batman. That was batman growing up for me. Which is funny, because to this day I've read only the few neal Adams stories i read in the 70s which were in some small batman digest. That digest, and my brother's plastic drinking glass (I had superman), were my only childhood exposure to Adams, but somehow they overrode the omnipresent Batman tv show and the Superfriends version. Even Batman Odyssey cant ruin those images for me (sorry Ron). I might like other versions better now, but if I picture Batman, it's certainly Adams
August 20, 2012 3:10 pm i loved the art, looked like a clear tribute to Sienkiewicz. Haven't seen Felix Ruiz before, if this is his normal style I'm going to have to look for more of his work. This is probably the best Warlock has looked in decades.
June 26, 2012 11:02 am i got mine from DCBS two weeks ago, and have been waiting patiently to put it on my ifanboy pull list and give it five stars. i didn't even know it had been delayed, just thought it was a glitch that it was missing on ifanboy. Jim, you're right, it's definitely worth the wait!
April 24, 2012 3:00 pm I knew about the AR app ahead of time, so wasn't bothered by the AR icons on panel.(Mike, you work for iFanboy and hadn't read the Marvel's SXSW announcement about how AR would change the world?) yes, it's a gimmick, except for the man speaking in my headphones before he walked onscreen and scaring the crap out of me. as for redeeming the 'free' digital copy, it's not driving me to the $3.99 books, but I like that I can put it on my ipad for my commute and leave the physical copy at home. And when i donate the comic, I like that i still have the digital copied saved, makes me feel like i didn't completely throw away my money, even if i never read it again
December 23, 2011 12:14 pm This book is a perfect example of the only drawback of ordering through DCBS: I decided to give this one more shot with the new #1, and had ordered 2 and 3 before I read the absolute nonsense of the first issue. I still love the art, especially the Sienkiewicz inks and Bruce Wayne's hirsuteness (hirsutitude?), but my lord Neal Adams needs an editor.
December 23, 2011 11:39 am Loved this book since the beginning, very worried about Grummett taking over on art. I thought he was decent in the 80s and 90s, but his work on X-Men Forever was atrocious. But I love Gage's writing, I'm not going anywhere
October 4, 2011 1:55 pm Thanks for this review, it saved me from writing the same exact thing. I felt a little better about the art, but the story was horrible; actually, make that non-existent. I'm surprised at the number of favorable reviews.
June 16, 2011 3:44 pm Greg Land is still on?  Thank you Marvel for giving me a jumping off point.  I'd rather read a Chuck Austen-written reboot of Fallen Angels drawn by Bret Blevins than ever see a panel drawn by Land again.  Too bad, too, I'm a Gillen fan
February 11, 2011 8:59 am i gotta say, what a great trailer.  i had absolutely no interest in seeing this, especially with the inclusion of Azazel (he who drove me out of comics for 3 years), but this blew me away.  very excited
December 28, 2010 8:04 pm I agree. Terrific, short-lived series.  I loved the sheer insanity of Ka-Zar facing the Red Skull with the Cosmic Cube.  And this series probably cemented my love for Andy Kubert's art.
