July 13, 2020 2:07 am I would like to give major props to whoever chose the intro/outro music for this episode. Love me some Mad Season. Layne Staley was one of the best rock/grunge band front men of all time in my humble opinion.
July 13, 2020 1:31 am I need to get caught up on the whole DCeased thing. I have all of the print issues and some the digital, I just haven't got around to reading them. I do dig the variant movie poster covers then have been doing though.
May 29, 2016 10:23 am I can understand the Conor. I was not the biggest fan of the last TMNT film but I have a 12 year old son who loved that last one and I will take him to see it. Plus I dig Stephen Amell from 'Arrow' and am interested to see his take on Casey Jones. And live-action Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady as well.
May 28, 2016 8:55 am I knew going in to this show that there was no way they could faithfully adapt the comic. The book was just to out there for TV. Not sure they could have done it justice on film or on HBO or one of the other cable networks. I think I may have to watch the pilot again as I just was not loving it and I wanted to love it. Preacher is one of the best comics EVER, in my opinion. That may be why I was disappointed with the first episode. I think my expectations were just to high. I will give it a chance cuz of the source material and my fondness for it. I hope it gets better. The biggest complaint I have is that it looks like the show will not go anywhere. It will just take place in Annville. One of the great things about the book was the traveling aspect of the story. This is such a departure that I am not sure it will work.
May 28, 2016 8:46 am I enjoyed Apocalypse but I do agree it is the weakest of the the last three X-Men movies. There have been very few comic book movies I have seen that I was utterly disappointed with and this film was far from one of those. Was it perfect? By no means, but I would have much difficulty naming any flick that I did not have at least minor issues with. Having just listened to this podcast, I was curious on if the ifanboy film brain trust was going to cover the next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie that is out soon? I was surprised that it was not mentioned at the end during the discussion about comic book movies coming out this year. I always look forward to what you all thing of the comic book movies that come out, though I don't always agree with your views (i.e Ron's BvS 'hot garbage' rant).
September 7, 2015 12:47 am Glad to see Talksplode return! This was an awesome conversation with Mark Millar. I am a big fan of most of his work and to hear about how he started in comics and progressed to where he is now was very interesting. The series he did with Tony Harris, War Heroes, was mentioned. I really dug the issues that came out but want to see the remaining ones hit my LCS some day. Or perhaps in a hardcover.
December 21, 2014 12:23 am Well to each their own. Plenty of other universes to get into. I love what the new Valiant is doing but I was way into the old Valiant of the early 90s. There is just enough of the old but with new takes on each character for me to not feel like I am reading the same thing over again. Plus they are finally creating new characters for the new Valiant. Good stuff in my opinion.
December 14, 2014 11:37 pm Nice to see that the Valiant #1 was mentioned. That was my pick of the week for sure. Thanks to Paul for being the voice for Valiant on the show. Valiant is my favorite publisher as well and they are putting out some killer books with some very interesting and promising books in 2015.
December 7, 2014 11:28 pm Picked up all 3 issue of Birthright on comixology based on the guys' recommendation. Gotta catch up on the Private Eye as well. Next week looks great! New Valiant book entitled, what else, The Valiant. Really looking forward to that one.
September 8, 2014 12:31 am Great to see a Valiant book mentioned on this week's show! Thanks to Paul for taking the time to read it and include it. Valiant books should be included on the show more often. There are great books being made that are not DC, Marvel or Image. The first issue of Dr. Mirage was really good and the art was what stood out for me. I read all the Valiant books and this is a nice change of pace from a lot of their other titles.
