April 17, 2012 1:18 pm No Mike Mignola? :O
October 17, 2011 7:00 pm This week is an important one, it's the week where I finally quit buying floppies and start buying HC and Original art. Let's see what I make of it!
October 4, 2011 12:57 pm "Notice I said “stories,” not issues. No matter how good the economy is, paying $2.99-$3.99 for 28-32 screens of content is too expensive for people. I think re-packaging the books into 3-4 issue trades or just packaging the story arcs and charging a bit more is going to translate into better perceived value. When you buy a song, you are buying the full song, right? Spending $2.99 for one-third or one-fifth of a story arc just doesn’t sit as neatly into most people’s purchasing habits. And, yes, I realize that TV shows have the same problem, but you are getting 22 or 44 minutes’ worth of content in those cases" Ifanboy as a whole uses this argument a lot, and it always makes me wonder... You do know that by putting this into words you are keeping away people who could be interested in buying comics and just happened to wonder into this site. I mean I collect comics for almost 6 years now and I still wonder why give 2.99 bucks for a comic, what would someone new to the medium think if they read that?
September 16, 2011 1:35 pm "Now collectors have become sort of insular, and slab their books in lucite or mithrandir or something to trade them with the 8 other people like them who care about creases and cover gloss, but never what’s inside." Hey Mr. Josh, I too think that what's inside of a comic is what matters most, that being said I can't shake the feeling that your response to Chris was kinda biased . There's nothing wrong in owning a rare book locked inside a CGC case, it's like owning some other piece of art, you don't really expect me to own a piece of history like Action 1 or Tec 27, Showcase 22 or Amazing Fantasy 15 and not protect it. The back issue market is very much alive and there are several sites dedicated to it. If Chris or anyone else wants to know a little bit more about comic history, the crash or back issues you can contact me. Davidr.bastos [at] gmail.com Thanks for your hard work ;)! PS: Back issues are also the only way to read stories that otherwise aren't collected in TPB format or HC.
August 31, 2011 9:32 pm I have a question, since you liked the green lantern book so much can someone tell me if I can just pick up the issue and understand everything without having read Blackest knight and all that stuff? Basically is it new reader friendly? Thanks in advance guys ;)

My pull list is getting too damn BIG!

Geek related I got Modern Warfare 2 and  300$ to spend.

Tomorrow I'm planning on going to my LCS and get something nice. I was thinking in maybe buying an omnibus or an absolute edition since the only "big format book" I have in my collection are Hellboy Library Edition 1 and Walking dead Book 1 and 2.

Any ideas from the good people in Ifanboy?

XD Sorry, I'm kinda new here (I'm a long time viewer though) so I thought you were really asking:P

Hey it's the internet, we all ask dumb question (and answers in my case)...

Every Ifanboy episode/podcast is good Hailscott.

Still 8 days left, I'm tired of waiting:P
I vote for a new intro too btw.
