May 8, 2009 9:21 pm Why is the idea of a multiverse in Star Trek so unknown to people. The dark mirror universe has, I think, appeared in every series. That whole concept is predicated on the idea of one or two changes altering the outcome of history. Furthermore, TNG used alternate timelines repeatedly, most notably when a Tasha Yar from a different timeline was brought into the mainstream timeline, had a child by a Romulan, and that daughter later appeared in a few episodes. This is really nothing new.
