Name: Jonathan Toderian

Bio: I am a comics lovin' fool from the Great White North (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to be precise). I have been reading comics ever since I could read. I also like to bum around the Interwebs alot, I lose 2-3 hours of my day to YouTube! Video games also factor into my daily schedule. HALO, baby, HALO! My music tastes mainly run to rock, especially '80s hair-metal. Other than that, I am a pretty easy going guy. I like to have a little fun with friends now and again. I live like I'm still 18 and I wouldn't have it any other way!!

April 11, 2009 6:29 am The way Jurgens has not only revitalized the character of Booster, but also made his back story that much more deep and interesting, has made this book one of my top ten every month. But they have relied on the time-travel angle for so much of the series, 'Booster Gold' is starting to feel like 'Justice League" in as much as Hal Jordan's comment in issue 31 of JLofA, "What have we really accomplished?"
April 10, 2009 7:38 pm I loved this new issue. Ever since Drift debuted a few issues agaon in "All Hail Megatron", I have wondered who the samurai Autobot was. The fact he didn't use blasters, but blades, made me a fan instantly.

A very interesting and highly subjective topic for this week's installment.

I agree with Josh that Taskmaster has a great costume, a pirate meets Batman kinda' vibe. But as much as I like the classic Taskmaster suit, I much prefer the re-designed mercenary/combat suit he sported in the 2002 'Taskmaster' limited and Agent X series.

I however respectfully disagree with what the boys said about the '90s Ben Reilly/Spider-man redesign. I thought the revamped suit maintained the classic elements but also breathed some new life into an otherwise perfect design. They didn't re-invent the wheel, but they damn sure gave it a new spin!

My bottom 5 costumes (in no particular order) are: the original Pied Piper, Puck from Alpha Flight, Morbius the Living Vampire (and his pimp collar), Storm's 'punk' look from the '80s and the white Vision.

My top 5 (Again in no order) are: Superman, Spider-man, Batman (with or without the yellow oval encircling the bat), Iron Man's Heroes Return "Renaissance" armor and Danny Ketch/Ghost Rider - original '90s version.

April 3, 2009 2:24 pm "Transformers Spotlight - JAZZ" was my pick of the week because it was an all around great comic. First off, EJ Su on art. I have been a huge fan of his almost-real tech art style since "Tech Jacket". The story by Reyk, a slice of life tale,  fits in perfectly with the ongoing "All Hail megatron". The Autobots are fighting cabin fever as their exile on Cybertron continues. Tempers flare as Cliffjumper and Bumblebee (my favorite Autobot) bicker about their situation. Skids calms them down by relating a tale of the time he was ambushed by Deceptions during his first combat mission. Alone, damaged and nearly off-line, Skids is rescued by a fellow Autobot who he cannot recognize (his 'eyes' are severly damaged). It is, of course, Jazz. The characterization of Jazz is very much like the cartoon character we all know and love, while at the same time keeping his manner in line with "All Hail Megatron".  Jazz is being pursued by the Predacons, who we come to know as bad-asses among the 'Cons. Jazz is no slouch either, as he effortlessly comes up with a plan to save their metallic backsides. Skids loses it when he hears who's following them. As the tale continues, we see Skids has the attention of the entire roster as he relates the words that Jazz used to bolster his flagging spirit. Skids finds his inner hero and they take out the Predacons. The story ends with Jazz asking Prowl if Skids is telling that story of the "super Autobot" who reascued him again, then goes inside and thanks Skids for using his words to keep the rest of the team going, all the while wearing a knowing smile on his face.  All in all, a sloid read and a solid issue. The "Spotlight" series continues to impress me!!
April 3, 2009 2:03 pm Grimlock is like a mix of Jack Bauer from '24', Wolverine and optimus himself.
April 3, 2009 2:01 pm Vampires and rock 'n' roll??! It's like peanut butter and chocolate to me. I could practically hear "The Lost Boys" playing in the background.
April 3, 2009 1:59 pm I agree with Urthona. Reading "Bomb Queen" gives me this deliciously evil feeling, like when I got my first Playboy. The cartoony art style fits perfectly with the irreverant story of a rebellious, narcissistic and self-indulgent super-villian who rules over her kingdom with a sense of humor and libido that would make Larry Flynt blush!! Sexy, suggestive and oh-so against the traditional comics grain. One of the few comics that I make myself wait for the trades because "Bomb Queen" is not a single serve portion comic. It's all buffet style, baby!
