June 6, 2011 2:57 pm Saw the film last night. Thought it was overall a good movie. I could care less about continuity. How can you expect a film studio to compact 50+ years of continuity into a 2 hour film is beyond me but whateves.  But to all those continuity freaks out there I'm surprised one thing didn't come up yet on this thread. Remember in X1 when Wolvie is being examined by the Xmen and Xavier? in that scene xavier had never seen him before and wondered about how old he is and what his history was. But if Cerebro had found him in the 60's then doesn't that whole scene from X1 not make any sense whatsoever. Also to those who are wondering about Shaws death. Maybe cause Xavier had him frozen is why Shaws power didn't protect him.
Really liked that scene between magneto and xavier; when xavier taught him to find his focus and he used the memory of being around the menora with his family and they both got emotional. have to admit, i wiped a single tear away from my eye on that one.
Liked Bacon as shaw. gotta admit it. I thought he was gonna be a laugher but he played it well. someone said it further up. It seemed like he was having a lot of fun with the role.
I liked January Jones. I thought her poor acting worked well for the White queen. Made her feel cold and distant and at the time of her being a member of the Hellfire club, she was.
I liked the Climax. Seeing the blackbird swoop in with a team of mutants, ready to save the world, was awesome.
The side story about Beast was well done too
I didn't get angel though but i was glad they moved her to the bad guys early on.

Like i said earlier. Enjoyable movie. Nothing ground breaking but good non the less
June 3, 2011 3:21 pm I can't wait to see Magneto in his real helmet. at the end of the trailer you see a flash of his back with his more iconic red cape and red helm. I guess that comes at the end once him and xavier have their split

I'm 27 years old and although i love most super hero based comics, there is a special spot in my heart for the mutants. Uncanny is really where it's at for the Xmen in mho but there have been great titles like the new uncanny xforce, the new mutants from a few years back, Claremonts original run on XMEN, xcalibur from the 70's and 80's to name a few. I think why i've liked them so much over the years is that they seem to me to be the comic that is the most realistic. I have trouble thinking that a man dressed as a bat can escape 70+ years of escapades and not take one fatal knife in the gut. Or that an Alien would come from another planet and be imbued with super human strength because our sun is a different colour. Gamma rays anyone? Radioactive spiders? All seems too much of a strech. But to me the idea of genetic mutation and rapid evolution seemed more plausable as a reason to have powers. So for me as a kid it was easier to get into it because of that.  I also liked they way writers over the years have focused on the relationships within the team. My favorite part of an xman tale is when they come home from saving the earth and they relax for a day or so before the next crisis begins. This is where you see the characters develop and to me has always been a strong point to the books. This week i've started reading messiah complex again. I reccommend reading that collection as it greatly influnced the last few years of Uncanny and is a good base of knowledge for the X stories now.
