August 25, 2014 9:33 pm Just checking out the recorded live stream. Those were a couple of intense minutes from the start! "Where's the video? Where's the video..??" ;)
Anyway, thanks for doing what you're doing. It's always a joy to listen to the podcast!

Pick of the Week #438 – Deadly Class #5
June 3, 2014 3:26 am Ah, I see, I can understand distancing yourself from source material stories, which I also (at least try to) do, but distancing yourself completely from the characters and your idea of how the character should behave I think is more difficult. Character motivation is more basic than story.
Or do you think that you can leave that behind as well?

Pick of the Week #438 – Deadly Class #5
June 2, 2014 5:39 pm Doesn't it go without saying that everyone bring stuff from outside into movie going experiences? Of course it matters if you know about characters from other places, you have a feel of a character's motivations because you know the character inside and out.
I seem to recall Paul saying about MoS that he was heartbroken about it, surely that wasn't only based on the fact that he thought the movie was bad but also that he had preconceived notion of how the character of Superman should be.
Maybe I misunderstood you, but it sounded to me like you were saying that you could distance yourself completely from your earlier experiences and go into each movie with a clean slate. Of course there is different levels to everything and you only meant that you didn't let it ruin your movie time (most of the time).

Pick of the Week #433 – Lazarus #8
April 28, 2014 5:57 pm This is just a thought, but couldn't it have been a consious choice to make young Forever look really similar to present day Forever? That way it is even more disturbing that that is what she is spending her tenth birthday doing. The whiplash is greater since we are in present day Forever mind set from the first page.
Just a thought.

Special Edition – Captain America: The Winter Soldier
April 7, 2014 3:43 am A question from someone who hasn't really read that much Captain America, what is Captain America's power level? I thought he was supposed to be peak, or maybe slightly above peak, human, but jumping from planes without parachute and jumping from high buildings? That just seems to be another ball park.
