this came out this week??

i got the first trade of kirkman's run and it is FAN... wait for it... TASTIC!

really good stuff. i wanna start picking this up in issues.  

love me some chaykin but i gotta say that he just does not fit this book.

i don't know exactly what people don't like overall about this book though. it's crazy over the top frank... what's not to like?

there was an arc, i forget which, that got kinda slow, but overall i think fraction is taking story ideas that sound cool and turning them into kickass stories. 

second issue of jonah i've read and i gotta say i'm digging it.

there's no confusion to the character which really helps for me. and the atmosphere is quickly set with the art as well as the writing.

i could see how the art duties changing would bug some people but so far i'm digging it.

now i just gotta pony up the dough to get the trades. even thinking about getting the black and white collections of the old jonah comics.

this book hasn't been nearly as good as Buffy but i've enjoyed it thus far anyway... although this issue really kinda threw me for a loop.

it's part 1 of a two story arc where they tell what happened to the heroes pretty much directly after the last episode of the series but i think they could've made it less confusing. i had to reread some parts of the book and after reading it i got the gist of what happened but i just didn't dig it.

art was pretty weak too. 

what a waste of cash.

i wondered if it had just been that i'd missed issue 1 of this book, but i guess it's just not that good.

i didn't know what the heck was going on. at least i don't have to worry about tracking down issue 1.    

this book is just fantastic.

while ulltimate xmen is a seemingly different take on the xmen with it's more xtreme and up to date nature ultimate spiderman is clearly a different book from the 616 universe.

BENDIS continues to take the characters down different roads.

Sometimes I do let out a sigh when I go to pick up my books. It sucks but it happens when it's week after week.

Though there are times... and there are more than a few, when I show up to pick up my comics and sigh with joy because sofar my week has sucked and that one moment when i can finally escape to the 616, ultimate or DC universe just makes my day. 

good gosh this book sucks.

vampires?? again??? didn't claremont do this with JLA?

seriously though. this book has the characters doing seemingly random things. i don't know where it's going. typically with a exile story i expect different things to happen.

it's sliders meets what if? meets elseworlds... it's the coolest plot. and yet claremont somehow manages to bring it all down to some really surprisingly crappy story about villains i don't even know with heroes I don't really care about.

i understand it's NEW exiles. it's a new beginning type thing but marvel/claremont really killed what they had going when they got rid of blink, morph and everyone else that we really cared about and left sabretooth as the one lone, he's the only one right, remaining character fromthe previous story.

there was no real transition except for maybe that zero issue i think it was but even that was more of a farewell to past characters and we're just thrown into a story with new characters.

gah.

 bad, bad, bad, bad writing.

art is okay but seriously i was just trying to figure out what was going on and i didn't really pay too much attention.

it's a trailer, man. i think it did what a trailer should do. it gave a peak at what it's about and what we can expect. 

i'm surprised that it didn't do what most trailers do nowadays which is give the whole fracking story away. and we all pretty much know what the stories going to be so what's the problem.

cgi doesn't look to your liking?? it's not being released tomorrow. they're still working on it. and with Norton involved in the process and actually being as involved as he seems to be I'm ok with what I saw.

I saw good actors NOT looking like douches and some short clips of some possible interesting dramatic scenes and some possible kickass action scenes.

i'm there.

not the greatest trailer but i won't judge the movie on it... i mean look at Jumper. that trailer looked amazing. 

better late then never.
