That group of scenes was basically a giant role-reversal for Kirk and Spock. Spock was doing Kirk-like things to outwit Khan, and Kirk was doing the logical in sacrificing himself to save the ship. Hell, even down to Spock screaming the iconic "Khaaaaaaaannnn!" As soon as Kirk died though, I was all "They're gonna use Khan's blood. It cured the little girl in the beginning. It's gonna resurrect the Tribble, Bones is gonna get the idea to use it on Kirk and everything will be fine." Also, one thing bugged me about the blood and needing to take Khan alive. If his blood could bring Jim back, wouldn't it stand to reason that the blood of another member of his crew would do the same? My best guess about this is either the writers weren't thinking, or it would take too long to wake up a crewperson from cryo-sleep to take their blood.
May 13, 2013 6:39 pm I'm sure you've had to stand in at least one line. There were several at C2E2 this year.
May 13, 2013 6:32 pm Occasionally it'll translate dialogue if they don't do the bracket translating thing directly on the page. Best example of this I think was the AvX: VS that pitted Magik against Black Widow and all their dialogue was in Russian. AR translated that to English.
May 8, 2013 10:54 pm It's Scott. They called him Scott. Or Scotty. It's just he's also Cable.
May 8, 2013 6:59 pm There is some stuff that's better illuminated in this issue.... spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer spoiler buffer 1) We learn Clint was talking about Kate to Grills, where in #9 we're all led to think it was about Jessica 2) I'll admit that Kaz's backstory was a bit stunted, but I liked it, with the juxtaposition of him and Kate hitting it off at her father's party 3) You just know that when Kate and Clint make up, there will be tension anew when she learns that the guy she's into is the guy the Tracksuit Russians have hired to kill her mentor. So I wouldn't say this is non-essential reading.
May 6, 2013 3:05 pm From what some people told me later on that Saturday evening at C2E2, Smith only got to answer 2 questions for the whole thing because there were 2 "surprise autobiography" people in the question line who talked for almost a half-hour each, even eliciting Smith to tap his wrist for time.
May 3, 2013 2:40 pm When Tony was in his workshop looking into the bombings and the Mandarin's profile as gathered by the FBI, CIA and SHIELD intercepts, he was kind of mumbling to himself about the significance of the name and the theatricality.
May 3, 2013 12:16 pm They implied it with the surgery bit in the trailers, but yeah, no.
May 2, 2013 12:37 am Dude, seriously, calm down. I trust Dan Slott knows what he's doing. He's been setting all this stuff up since he started with Big Time and the Ock stuff (brain swap) was set up in issue 600. So it's gonna take a while to come to the conclusion of this epic chapter in Spider-Man history.
May 1, 2013 3:23 pm 14 is the new (almost Ben Reilly-esque) costume for Spidey, along with him taking on Shadowland, and I believe they said in the C2E2 panel that Miguel shows up in 17.
