November 10, 2010 7:23 pm This could only have been worse if Lois had revealed that she lost her virginity to The Sentry. Which would be about as much in character and continuity as pretty much everything else in the issue.
I didn't like this very much. Huge info dumps of information in places and then pages of action that needed dialogue but didn't have any. There is one promising moment when Frank is trapped in a promisingly scary situation but -
spoiler alert
- he's released on the next page with no ingenuity at all. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the amazing writing Jason Aaron is doing on Punisher Max but I've found these one shots disappointing on the whole, with the exception of the amazing Brecon Beacons issue last year.
@HailScott Same here in the UK, where the cover price (you guys think you're hard done by with your $3.99??) means ordering in advance is the only realistic option. That means being committed to books three months ahead of release. In other words, if you decide you aren't really enjoying the first issue of Superman and Batman Vs Vampires and Werewolves (and who did), you're stuck with it for the whole run. Hence several three and two star ratings.
For what it's worth, a book has to try really hard to get 1 star from me. Fallen Sun got two, for instance, so you can imagine how terrible it has to be to get 1. Um, did I mention Superman and Batman Vs Vampires and Werewolves yet...?

'Get it, snuff his fire?'
Er, no, actually.
