Let me start off by saying that I don’t think there was a single characterization in this book that didn’t…

April 22, 2011 4:20 pm Oh man, I'd always been interested in comics, but Vertigo is what got me absolutely hooked as an adult. Sandman, Fables, Y: The Last Man, Preacher, Swamp Thing, Scalped... I devoured those books and I really don't think I would've destroyed a life savings on comics without them. Wait... Is that a good thing? Yes. Yes it is.
April 18, 2011 10:55 pm They're clearly Time Lords. Or at the very least, the Doctor and a companion we haven't seen yet.
April 14, 2011 11:51 am Do you think Lois brutally murdered the former leader of the leopard pack and is now wearing it's skin as a reminder to others of her supremacy? I'll answer that for you. Of course she did.
April 12, 2011 6:25 pm Just out of curiosity, how would all of you guys fix the mask? Cause as far as I can tell it looks pretty similar to how it does in the comics... And it's certainly not always consistently drawn the same shape around the edges in the comics.
April 11, 2011 12:15 pm I've only just started Hickman's Fantastic Four in trades, but everything I've heard/read/seen about it seems to indicate it's an epic run in the making. I'm not sure that he has a definite "end" in mind though, so that may disqualify it.

And I still haven't read "Transmetropolitan" yet. I want to, but I know as soon as I get halfway through buying the paperbacks, there will be nice, oversized, deluxe hardcovers released. It happened with Sandman. It happened with Y. It happened with Preacher. Not this time, DC!
April 7, 2011 6:38 pm @rocketraccoon - That Flash Omnibus is just Volume 1. They'll collect all the subsequent stories in later volumes like they did with Starman.
April 7, 2011 3:26 pm I don't think you can really start with "The Return of Barry Allen" because it would probably be slightly confusing and might not mean as much to a first time reader. But once you know the characters and the history, that story will blow your mind.
April 6, 2011 7:19 pm Did NOT see that coming. I was all, "oh, hey, the Dark Avatar looks like Swamp Thing. Neat." And then, "Oh holy sh*t, it IS Swamp Thing!" Very cool.

Also, I can feel the rage emanating from Alan Moore already... "How DARE they retcon a character that wasn't originally mine and I already retconned!!!"
April 5, 2011 10:47 pm I dunno if Bucky can just easily step down into a much lesser hero's role. What's he gonna do? Be Nomad now? The Captain? Wolf-Cap? C'mon... I'm envisioning a broken-down, strung-out Bucky sitting in a crummy bar while the 30 year old TV in the corner plays footage of the Avengers kicking ass. Bucky says "turn it off." Another guy says "Hey, pal, we were watching that." Bucky starts getting belligerent with the guy. He smashes a bottle, maybe a chair, but he no longer has a SHIELD/Soviet issued cybernetic arm and is too drunk to put up much of a fight. The bouncers drag him out as he screams "Djyou know who I am?!? I was Captain F*&#ing America!!!"
April 5, 2011 6:17 pm I think the idea is pretty cool, but I would've much preferred they switch the numbering, so we get a Captain America #620 and a Captain America & Bucky #1... But I suppose they figure people would be less likely to pick up a Captain America & Bucky #1 than a Captain America #1
