July 27, 2012 12:11 pm It's actually a female lion Skinner Sweet is fighting.
June 12, 2012 3:48 pm Very true. That's the best of Harren's work I've seen to date. The battle in the third issue might be the most well-paced action sequence in any comic I've ever read. Most comic books fights it's tough to tell exactly what's going on 100% of the time. This fight keeps you engaged and makes the short beats between punches and bites just an intriguing as the punches and bites themselves.
June 12, 2012 3:40 pm It seemed like everyone has a love affair with him, but Jordi Bernet's art on "The Beast in the Cave" AV story was gag-inducing for me.
June 11, 2012 3:00 pm I got this last week, too. And I also noticed the numbering error. The actual #66 is the one with Butcher on the cover holding a crowbar. This is #67 but my copy says #66 on it. Collector's item perhaps???
June 8, 2012 4:45 pm No mention of Alex Ross? I know it's been a while since he's done 100% of the interior art for a book, but I know if another "Justice"-type mini was announced he would move units.
June 8, 2012 4:40 pm Couldn't agree more. I've never really understood why people swoon over Jim Lee's art.
June 8, 2012 4:39 pm For me, I don't care what the book is, I'll at least give it a try if it's illustrated by Jock, Francisco Francavilla, Jamie McKelvie or Becky Cloonan. Each have their own distinctive style, which is something I look for in an artist.
May 10, 2012 11:23 am I've been on the fence about dropping this book ever since the arc in the mental hospital in England. I was on-board for the "Dead" arc but after reading this last issue I've decided to drop it. The reason I started reading Deadpool in the first place was that it was always good for a laugh and I could count on some solid, bad ass action. The main draw for me was Deadpool as a kind of a lovable idiot. His healing factor power made it so you could put him through anything, which created a world of possibilities. Without that, the character has no draw for me. I don't read Deadpool for character development. I get plenty of that in books like B.P.R.D. and Brubaker/Phillps stories. I really have no interest in seeing what he does without his healing factor. Get back to me when Deadpool goes back to his roots of blowing things up coupled with witty one-liners and hilarious internal dialog.
May 8, 2012 12:26 pm Thanks for covering this! Great idea! I just went on and pledged.
March 1, 2012 1:35 pm This issue is the first comic book that ever made me actually cry. Now, there weren't tears rolling down my face but - SPOILER ALERT - when you realize it was Dash who paid for the community center, see the sign with Gina's name on it and Dash says, "She would have loved it. That's all that matters," I'll admit I got a little misty.
