August 12, 2012 2:39 pm Not a cap reader currently... but SOLD!! Marvel Now is just begging to take a bite out of my wallet. I'm totally game to try this and Thor at the least.
May 7, 2012 7:19 pm I presumed that when Fury gave the 'nod' to a group to rush in after his moment with Coulson - that was the medical team that is mentioned later. The other agents saying "we'll send a medical team" I took as their disbelief in his being dead and "we have to do something, this can't be" Though because we never REALLY see.. they could write it into anything in the future I suppose.
December 29, 2011 3:08 pm Do we know why Cornell is leaving the book?? (Sorry if I missed the info elsewhere)
November 10, 2011 5:01 am Thanks vandamowens - I'd actually checked that but honestly wasn't sure what issues were covered in what book... My bad I should have realized.. I'd done that before but descriptions sometimes were missing issue numbers so I got a little lost - got it sorted out now!! I think I"ll make this a trade collection to catch up - and possibly how I collect it if I dig it.
November 10, 2011 1:11 am X-books traditionally don't do it for me (though that's the opinion of 10 years ago me) - but the reviews people are giving this are AMAZING... how far can one catch up in trades???
November 9, 2011 6:43 pm I'm someone new back to the comic book shop due to new 52.... and because of it DC has captured the bulk of my interest.. I'm on a few marvel titles and an image/idw - but easing in slowly and being more discriminating for two reasons... the books being typically more expensive (I know it's only a buck - but it's a strong psychological barrier for some reason) and less clear jumping on points.
November 4, 2011 4:05 pm I agree with the allure points you mentioned totally. Honestly in my perfect world .. I'd just like to see dirt cheap digital back issues of older books. Similar to the comixology 99c marvel mondays - but expand upon that. Sell me collections so I can get EVERY damn book in a titles run for dirt cheap if I want to. It's something I'm never going to go hunting for in stores for back issues dealing with missing titles - prices - storage. But I can see dropping 10 bucks now and again on a lark to read a couple years of 80's spider man or something similar. As for recent back issues... I'd like to see them go 'cheaper' say... $1 after they've been out for 3-6 months say? I'd be far more likely to 'catch up' on a title I'm interested in that way and start buying it regularly on release date.
November 4, 2011 3:58 pm I would also add that you go see the Twilight movie - and then hop into any local book store or amazon. You can buy any installment for around 10 bucks or a whole hardcover box set for like 60-80. And that's your ENTIRE twilight investment. The whole story - all packed up neatly. Comic books tend to work as soap operas, people need to know jumping on points, are bogged down in history, same old problems as always. TPB's help.. and in my mind are somewhat analogous to selling seasons of a show on DVD. Though still aren't as often marketed as accessibly as even that. -- All that being said I'm eager to make a slow move into a mix of floppy / trade / digital. It makes me want an ipad pretty bad!
October 26, 2011 8:25 pm Ended up that the variant reprints of 1-4 where still on the front shelf at my comic book shop......... so I caved and bought 1-5. Turned into a 'heavier' week than I anticipated!! Thanks for the insights though guys! :)
October 26, 2011 4:35 am I'm fresh back to the CBS - and ifanboy keeps saying great things about daredevil so I want to get on board. I'm not sure I can get all 1-4 at my local shop at reasonable prices! lol. Do you guys think after issue 6 there will be a TPB?? Should I just hop in at 5 + however far back I can get?
