May 25, 2014 6:00 pm So, I personally enjoyed the movie, but I could not love it. I didn't care enough about most of the characters. Particularly the characters of the future, which is disappointing. I am wondering, I think not only The Last Stand, but almost every single X-Men film has been retconned out by what has been suggested.
December 5, 2012 1:26 pm Sue me, but I am a fan of all of Star Wars, even the prequels. But just the movies, I've liked some of the other stuff that's been made, but at the end of the day I like what Ron once said. I have my own cannon. Star Wars is over with Return of the Jedi. I'm okay with more movies in the Star Wars Universe, but I think the story of the fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker, and Luke's coming of age is over.
October 7, 2012 2:07 pm I did find it annoying that Aqualad turned out to be a double agent, for two reasons, a. He looks cooler in his evil costume, with that menacing resolute face. b. Aqualad was a major accomplishment in the series, as so many prior to Geoff Johns recent work felt Aquaman (and by extention Aqualad) were lame, but I felt that Kal'duram's descent made sense as a character arc. Being so stoic, yet very easily affected by emotional pain as shown in Season 1 as he still longs for Tula. I like that they are at least questioning his status as a double agent.
July 20, 2012 12:13 pm If you think that it is at the bottom of your list of the trilogy that does not mean that it's a bad movie at all. Many people rank 'Jedi' as the worst of the first three Star Wars movies, and that's not because it's bad, it's just that people like the first two a little more. Personally for me I rate the movies as Batman Begins: B+, The Dark Knight: A+ and The Dark Knight Rises: B+. My biggest gripe with the film is a bit of a more ridiculous plot compared to the first two films, but it's helped by really great performances.
June 26, 2012 1:25 pm @Josh, you really should read LoEG Century 1969, it's some really fun stuff. Particularly the finale, it's flat out the best artwork by O'Neill yet. Looking forward to this new one very much!
May 19, 2012 3:08 pm This episode was a mixed bag for me, on the one hand it was a good relief to finally get some clarity in what happens to everyone else from the first season, it was a little anti climactic for the strange beast
May 17, 2012 1:45 pm @ Conor Kilpatrick, yeah I forgot about The Batman (mostly intentionally) but I did mean all four of the Bat-Family Together. The closest in The Batman was either Batman, Robin and Batgirl, or in the future episode Batman, Nightwing and Oracle. @RahUniQue lol totally!
May 12, 2012 10:21 pm I loved this episode. Loved that they had hero sidekick team-ups in this episode (about 15 years since the entire Bat-Family is on screen together) plus it's nice to see Superman and Superboy have bonded. The main complaint I have had so far with this new season (which is honestly like a new show) is that there aren't enough good character moments as before, but this episode delivered on both action and character. I think with that great mindwipe scene with Miss Martian and Superboy's reaction that there is probably much more of a reason for their break-up other than the aging issue. The whole new development with Aqualad is good also. It was unbearably frustrating that we jumped five years with no info on what happened to Kid Flash, Artemis and Aqualad, but seeing Kaldur'am again was good. While it was a little unfortunate that one of the coolest characters of the show has gone rogue I felt it was very appropriate. Because Aqualad was such a stoic character, he wasn't open to sharing his feelings and while a little over-expositiony it's clear that Aqualad couldn't handle finding out that he was lied to by his teacher about who his father was and losing his unrequited love. That characterization reminded me of Darth Vader and Uchiha Sasuke. Plus, it's pretty clear that Kaldur'am is irredeemable at this point given that he was unhesitantly willing to kill numerous Kroleteans.
May 9, 2012 8:21 pm If you liked the comic (not the movie) then it's probably great. It's much darker and more violent than the previous one, but if you only know the movie, it's such a stark difference in tone and feel.
May 8, 2012 11:53 pm Two things about this news. 1. While I'm not paranoid, I hope Disney treats Marvel like Pixar, as in letting them do what they want to do and not forcing them to do projects they don't have a great interest in. 2. While I loved Kick-Ass the movie, Kick-Ass 2 is an extremely difficult comic to adapt because the comic is such a dark comic. The last movie was an action-comedy, which was mostly a good reflection of the book, but Kick-Ass 2 is a serious exploration of supervillains in the real world. There's rape and killing kids in the book, it's a great book, but such a drastic shift from the action-comedy feel of Kick-Ass. Plus Christopher Mintz-Plasse's character is downright sinister in the book, I'm not sure he can pull it off.
