ADVANCED REVIEW: Avengers Arena #1 (Spoiler-Free)
November 27, 2012 3:11 am People should have checked out Academy before this, so don't bother checking it out now since it's over and this is what's replacing it. The idea of kids fighting to the death sickens me, even in a fictional universe, so I'll be putting my money into other books. Avengers Academy was my favorite comic on the stands, and although I'd love to see where the character's stories go next, I've learned my lesson on following characters and not creators. There's lots of other great books coming out with some of my favorite writers writing them, so I'll go there instead. Good luck to this book, however :)

TEASER: In INVINCIBLE #100…
August 13, 2012 3:04 pm lol Oh look, a big milestone and we're going to tease the death of or kill a character. I'm excited for it, but I've never seen this happen before ;) (Doesn't help I've just read the article about retelling past stories :) )

The Joker Returns in BATMAN #13 Courtesy of Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo
July 2, 2012 8:40 pm After what's happened with the Court (and Batman's detective skills), I couldn't care any less about this. Guessed this a mile away. I loved Snyder's work before the New 52 on the Bat books (Gates of Gotham is one of my all-time favorites), but something happened when he jumped on Batman. Oh well, headlines will tell me all I need to know and I'll see if it's worth my time then. Until then, Detective Comics and The Dark Knight is where the Batman I enjoy is at (until Daniels leaves :( )

AVENGERS ACADEMY #31
June 14, 2012 10:06 am That's what I've loved about this. Tackling big issues that don't just relate to beings in the Marvel universe but also in our universe. While everyone worships AvX and Batman, I try to let everyone know this is my favorite title and is always on top of my stack when it comes out. Too bad more people don't see that, but we all have different tastes :)

June 13, 2012 – Batman #10
June 14, 2012 10:01 am I've enjoyed this run but I think so many are blowing its epic-ness out of proportion. There's been other stories that upend Gotham, but I guess those are from the old (and better) DCU, so they never happened. Oh well. I have some core beliefs on what makes Batman Batman, and within 10 issues, even with connections to past story lines, this team has broken just about every one of them, but I suspect the last stand out will be broken soon.
Oh well, I hope those enjoying it continue to do so, and I hope it catches my interest more so I can enjoy it as much as the fanboys :)

Scott Lobdell & Kenneth Rocafort Take Over SUPERMAN
June 11, 2012 10:06 pm I've enjoyed Red Hood a lot, too, but Superboy has dried up with its crossover with Teen Titans, and I've grown tired of that book, too, but it's the only place with Tim Drake. Lobdell writes the characters very well, but most of the stories haven't impressed me. Here's hoping to Superman, though, although I don't think there's anything wrong with it now, but I'm guessing I'm in the minority there.

I, VAMPIRE #9
May 28, 2012 10:19 pm I hate vampires, and everything's obsession with them and zombies doesn't help, but I picked this title up on a whim and have loved every moment of it. More people should be reading it.

SUPERMAN #9
May 28, 2012 10:17 pm I've been enjoying this title. One of the few for the New 52 I'm afraid. And this was a great issue on top of it. Keep it up, team :)

STAR WARS: DARTH VADER AND THE GHOST PRISON #1 (OF 5)
May 28, 2012 10:15 pm I loved this issue. I read it last, not thinking I'd be that impressed, but I was blown away. The next issue will be very close to the top of my stack next time :)
