Name: J.K. Woodward

Bio: Since I started drawing comics in 2003, I've collaborated with A. David Lewis on the indie comic Mortal Coils and Michael Colbert on Crazy Mary, a Digital Webbing Presents series. IDW took notice of my work on Crazy Mary and offered me my first paying gig doing a CSI:NY limited series and I followed in short order with a story in BOOM! Studios' Zombie Tales series. When Peter David was re-launching his owner created series Fallen Angel at IDW, he chose me for the art(again because of my work on Crazy Mary, self-publication is probably the best way to "break-in" to the industry). My painted work eventually caught the attention of Marvel editor(at the time), Mike Marts who chose me to illustrate X-men Origins:The Beast which was released September 2008. 2 years ago, I relocated from Long Beach, CA to Long Island City in Queens, NY and most recently illustrated Peter David's Fallen Angel:Reborn as well as various other work for IDW, Archaia, Top Cow and BOOM! Studios.more here: http://www.jkwoodward.com/http://www.jkwoodwardart.blogspot.com/http://jkwoodwardcovers.blogspot.com/http://www.facebook.com/people/James-Kenneth-Woodward/1656305567

July 24, 2010 11:59 am While I'm sorry you didn't like my contribution, I'm proud of the work I did here and stand by it. The direction for the illustrations were specifically scripted and was to be like an illustrated bible or as you put it "Jehovah's witness type pamphlet". Though I'll continue to strive for improvement, I'm still happy with the work I did here.
July 14, 2009 8:03 pm No you don't. This is a good issue to jump on. You won't need anything from the previous issues to enjoy this.
