Name: Eric Bass

Bio: I am the alfalfa, and the omega-13. I am an awesome sandwich with extra "WTF sauce", and cheesy goodness extrordinaire. I love comics, like a man loves a big breasted woman, whose loose enough morals to coaxial my cable, on the first date. Which means... I LOVE FRIGGIN COMICS! I'm an unpublished comic book writer, utilizing everything at my disposal, accept roofies to break into the industry. And Mayor of the imaginary town called, Baconopolis. Huzzah! Huzzah!

January 19, 2012 3:06 am I am not sure if anyone has made this point yet, as I tried to read every reply to this post. But my eyes started to do and Fred and Ginger and I got overly anxious and decided to post any way. My first comic at the tender age of 11 was a Marvel comic. Im and will continue to be a Marvel comic fan, unrelenting fan, for the rest of my life. My loyalty comes from the many years where Marvel gave me enjoyment that I could not get from DC comics, or any other comic book company. Having said that, I have not always been pleased with a lot of what comes out of Marvel. In fact I've been outright disappointed with a great many things that I've read, that Marvel comics produced. And my immediate response to that displeasure, was to not buy that book again. But the Point I'm trying to make, is that apart from the last few years marvel's kicking ass. They were doing great things, they had great writers, they had great books. And then they were purchased by Disney. And, while not being 100% certain about this, I think that's when things changed. Given all of disney's wonder in amazement, there public persona, they are a very large company also owned by ABC. And with that ownership comes a good degree of focus on the bottom line. And while comic book companies have to focus on the bottom line, their demographic is a unique one. As a demographic that I'm sure Disney had not fully understood, and maybe just recently started to figure out. At least in my opinion. And yes marvel can be over reliant on events. But in marvel's history there have always been event comics, it's kind of their history. And there've always been that writing, and that art. And that may not change, because to marvel's defense they may be just trying out new talent. Or relying on talent that many have seen better days. But, that's the way it is with th anything you give your attention and loyalty to. Are going to be bumps, and they're going to be false starts, and maybe even great disappointments. But you weather those to get to the good stuff. I think that's just the way it goes when you're dealing with th anything creative. It's not always going to be a home run, but you hope in the very least, it'll be a good read. And, if it's not a good read there's always something on television. That's just my 2ยข.
January 13, 2012 12:03 pm It is my sincere and fervent hope, that they decide not to go the way of Tiger beat, and make it as close to the original character as I'm sure we all remember. I would like to see Ollie instead of Oliver. It would be a good counterpoint to see a radical, semi-militant, justice seeking hero on a channel that is rife with girls who wear far too much juicy couture. But that's just my opinion.

January 13, 2012 11:35 am In my opinion, in deference to the guys here at I family you could tell me the plot for any particular run of any particular book, the entire story breakdown, from beginning to and and I would still read that run. If the writer is good enough, and the art engaging enough, you'll still have that sense of expectation, and anticipation to see the climax and still be satisfied. spoilers don't really matter to me, if the story is good, the story is good, and that's pretty much all that I care about.
January 12, 2012 3:12 pm Oooooo...it's sexier than bare bewbies!
January 9, 2012 7:13 pm I have to be honest, my interest in reading this book is not nearly as intense as wanting to read Scott Snyder's portion of it. So I clicked the link that Josh used in the article, and read only his story. And the damn thing left me with blue balls. I wanted more, and for me in reading (I admit to being a lazy reader only reading things that really yoke me.), That takes some doing. I want to know more about the character, I want to know more about what happened, just want more, more of that story. So now I have to get the book, dang it!
January 9, 2012 7:05 pm I have been a fan of Scott Snyder's work only within the last year and a half. Started with American vampire, moved on to Swamp thing, and now on Batman (Batman is one of my favorite characters, if not my number 1 favorite. And he's killing it, awesome freaking work!), And bringing Albuquerque to the book, will be staggeringly good. With his unquestionable love for the character in the book he's working on, I can't see him leaving it in unworthy hands. Change inevitably is always good.
January 9, 2012 7:00 pm Natebot, I get the correlation. Jarvis and it's prominence in the Marvel universe and Jarvis being Alfred's father. I see it.
