April 24, 2012 2:15 pm Frankly, I'm just not turned on by the Marvel AR strategy. It's a gimmick - plain and simple. If Marvel was truly serious about attracting new readers they would lower their digital prices to $1.99 - like DC, Image, and so many others have done. When DC introduced the new 52, I purchased an iPad 2 so that I could read comics digitally. I wait a month to read new issues so that I get the $1.99 price. The only comics that I still buy in print are Marvel and Dark Horse. Marvel used to be the largest percentage of comics that I buy - but now I have diversified my comic reading trying out many other publishers on Comixology who sell their comics for $.99 to $1.99. I rarely will pay for anything digitally for anything over $1.99 - unless it is something exceptional.
March 31, 2012 9:15 pm Love it! Omnibus goodness. Can't wait.
March 16, 2012 1:43 pm Conor, No disclaimer was necessary. Even on drugs and in pain, you knocked it out of the park. I hope your back gets better soon. I loved Saga. It was the first, and best, of all the comics I read this week. The birth scene hooked me. Well, that plus the robot sex. I think BKV is on his A game with this one. I can't wait for the second issue. The only thing I would take exception with is the comment of the dearth of sci-fi comics in recent years. While I would agree with that statement on the whole, I can't help but mention "Fear Agent" by Rick Remender. Or "Godland" for that matter. Both of these have represented sci-fi well. Peace Out, iSteve
February 10, 2012 1:05 pm I'm a HUGE Bendis fan. I got re-started in comics just as he started his run on the Avengers. I've loved every minute of it. I'm truly sorry to see this run come to an end. As for the future, I can see him on the Fantastic Four - but that said, I love Hickman and have no wish to see him leave the title. I can also see him re-imagine the X-Men franchise the way he did for the Avengers. What about Bendis doing Power Man and Iron Fist? It's just so hard to imagine him anywhere other than the Avengers and Ultimate Spider-Man. One thing I do hope happens and that is we will see both Powers and Scarlet more frequently. Peace out!
August 8, 2011 1:59 pm I doubt it is the return of Johnny Storm - much, much too soon.  Conversely, I hope that it doesn't mean that Spider-Man leaving the team - he just got there.  I like the current team just as it is.
June 28, 2011 5:50 pm I did it, but found it very strange.  I think I could come up with much more interesting questions about comic book fans and our culture.  Hope I get the $100.
June 20, 2011 9:25 pm I really wanted Katee Sackhoff to be Pilgrim.  She would have been perfect.
June 15, 2011 4:51 pm Excellent interview!  I found it oddly comforting.  When all this was announced, I was so psyched - especially about the day/date digital download.  But then as last week went along, I grew surprisingly anxious.  Some of the new titles felt disorienting.  Even though I've been reading DC since the 1960s, I didn't recognize some of the characters - probably because they were from Wildstorm or Vertigo.  I also grew anxious about some of the characters that were MIA - Red Robin (for a while), Power Girl, the JSA, etc.  With all this anxiety I began to wonder whether DC was making a terrible mistake.  But the interview with Bob and Eddie calmed and reassured me.  DC does have a plan - and it's a long term one.  Because I love DC comics so much, I really want this to work.  I appreciate the riskiness of this endeavor.  My hope is that it will bring in additional readers.  I don't want to be in a world where comics are continually decline - like with May, where no book sold over 100,000.  I want comics to grow and flourish again.  So I am on-board with DC and the re-launch.  I won't buy all the books, but I will probably buy a majority of the 52 titles.  And I am making plans to transition to digital.  I will buy an iPad sometime over the summer to be ready for September.  I'm a reader - not so much a collector any more.  So I'm ready for the digital versions of my favorite DC heroes - or at least I will be.  The only downside to this is how I am going to tell my LCS owner that I will be deleting all DC titles as of September 1.
June 14, 2011 12:43 pm Love it!!!  Going on my pull list.
June 9, 2011 12:00 pm I am sooooo relieved that Jonah Hex is returning - and with Gray and Palmiotti writing him too.  I like the concept of the All Star Western.  Can't wait for some Bat Lash on the side.

The other title that interests me is Sgt. Rock.  I'm so glad that DC is updating the war genre.
