iFlashback! January 7th, 2004
January 8, 2013 2:17 pm Caper is Judd Winick at his best! Also doesn't hurt that there's some great Farel Dalrymple art in the first four issues.

Walt Simonson SMASH! – Joins Mark Waid on INDESTRUCTIBLE HULK
January 8, 2013 2:14 pm On Simonson's Twitter feed he posted an unfinished page of some frost giants. Is anyone else nerdgasming as much as I am seeing these images??? SIMONSON doing THOR??? I know he did covers, but some storytelling??? Gosh.

Let’s Talk Comics. Please.
November 9, 2012 12:21 pm I totally get it. Last night I tried with my wife to talk about how excited I am about rumours over the JL Dark Moive. She was happy for me that I was excited but that`s where the conversation ends. I have one dude who I engage in this talk with and when we see eachother it`s a special occasion. Otherwise it`s solitary geekery. And there are those at work and in social circles who claim geekery, but then it`s revealed to be Walking Dead and Big Bang Theory. Ugh.
My ten year old and I have been engaging in a lot of discussion lately about it. He gave up comics a while ago but he has been reading them more and more latey. I told him about the Rotwar last night over Heroclix and he seemed pretty interested.

Movie Review: ‘Dredd 3D’ (Spoiler Free)
September 24, 2012 7:21 pm This was a pretty good flick and ran the close risk of coming off as campy. There were 2 things that really surprised me about this movie. 1: Anderson. I saw this movie with the wifey and we agreed that Anderson was in a lot of ways a feminist hero. The expectations were low from authority and the audience. She`s a young woman in a superhero movie and that`s sure to be exploited for sex appeal. Instead they didn`t dye or pluck her eyebrows and even tho it was 18A in Canada there was no nudity. She also, as a chracter rose above expectations and defined her own role as unique from the main character. Cool stuff. 2: The 3D really impressed both my wife and I. I hate 3D and she likes it even less. There hasn`t been a good 3D movie since Avatar or Hubble3D. This certainly wasn`t on the same levels as those films, but it did raise the bar a bit from the past 2 years or so.
I haven`t read too much Dredd, but after seeing this I will be seeking some out.

Oh The Places You’ll Go! (When You Read Comics)
August 1, 2012 8:21 pm Yes, DC comics does a good job of this but a lot of comics do this. I have never been to New York, but a lot of its mythos to me were built on Marvel Comics. Also I don't know if I'll ever go to Cleveland in my life but Harvey Pekar certainly got me well aquanted with it.

iFlashback! July 30th, 2003
July 30, 2012 7:27 pm Crimson Dyanamo wasn't great, but I wish that Epic line would have stuck around. Sleepwalker is one of my favorite characters and I haven't seen him since then. That Silver Surfer title up there was pretty good as I recall and the art was insanely good.
Thos Vikings is a great little read as is Red. I have pretty much this whole list now that I think about it except the Batman and Flash. I wholly regret it so no need to let me know that I was foolish to grab Dynamo and not Hush.

Preview: SHADOWMAN #1 by Justin Jordan & Patrick Zircher
July 26, 2012 7:15 pm Shadowman was my least favorite Valiant character, but the redesign and the art look stellar. I am in.
As long as there are no team ups with Aerosmith.
