March 4, 2010 8:19 pm Yeah, I get that.  I can think of a half dozen ideas regarding the scene set by that cover that I would love to have read more than anything that was actually in the issue, but I don't know hom much of that is just how great Amanda Conner is.
February 3, 2010 5:39 pm I'm not morally opposed to the existence of further adventures in the Watchmen universe, but It would never occur to me to pick it up if I saw it on the rack no matter what team DC put on it.  Even if Moore were to write it himself, I would probably wait until someone told me it was good before I checked it out.  Watchmen feels complete to me the way that Y or Preacher feel complete.  It's not that there isn't more you could do in those worlds, I just don't feel like there's any need to.  I have more than enough to digest and reread for ages already; and while I wouldn't begrudge ad hoc additions to any of these properties, I just can't imagine anything new being terribly compelling.
January 26, 2010 5:36 pm It's pure concentrated crazy that more people aren't reading this book.

Agreed on this weeks highlights.  Eager for new Powergirl and more from the Irredeemable world in the form of Incorruptible, but the new Fear Agent trade feels like Rick Remender's private christmas gift to me.

BQ: Totally jonseing for a coconut ice cream root beer float.

December 14, 2009 2:22 pm Far and away my favorite book going and I don't even know why. So good.
December 14, 2009 2:21 pm New Mark Waid....and in the world of Irredeemable! Oh, man, too excited for words.
November 5, 2009 1:05 pm coltrane68 - you're absolutely right about the new issue of cap reborn.  I had written this before I had gotten that far into my stack and that really was a much more compelling issue than I had read in the run up to that point. The odd thing though is how much parallel these two stories have in how they are developing - evil do-ers resurecting dead heroes to control and use as weapons in their evil plans. It's not a new trope, but it's weird to read it twice in the same week.

Useless Fact #1

If you skip all the ads and were to spend at least five minutes per page absorbing the wonderful Sam Keith art, as Ron claims he did, it would take you over four hours to finish reading this issue.

Of everything coming out this week, what I'm surprised to find I'm looking forward to the most is Powergirl #6.  Of almost anything I'm reading right now, this has proven to be just about the most fun.  It's everything that I wanted Empowered to be and the art has been fantastic.

BQ: I don't know that you would want to drive all the way upstate for a shower, but you're welcome to.  Alternatively, I could just send you some hot water.  I could fill up a couple dozen thermoses and overnight them.

August 23, 2009 10:17 pm How crazy is it that I'm considering taking the train down from Poughkeepsie just for this?
