January 30, 2012 3:25 am I would say my favourite part of these .5's is that they are so stand alone, while still tying themselves into a larger framework. It's an issue I see everywhere in comics, that the authors are writing for the trade, as opposed to the individual book. The regular issues of Unwritten are an exact example of this, as it tells a story that is so impenetrable that no one could jump on without having read the entire series. I wish that there were an entire series dedicated to this sort of stand alone style; but alas...
