Comics aren’t cheap. For about three dollars more than this issue of Superman I could get a paperback novel that…

There seems to be a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I don’t remember watching He-Man as a little…

I feel the need to be overly critical of double-ship, $3.99 books. Yet I can’t find any reason not to…

August 20, 2013 4:37 pm Correction, Batman/Superman, Batman, and Unchained. Still pretty serious stories
August 20, 2013 4:35 pm Batman in all of its dark and gritty is the best selling dc book by a decent margin.
August 20, 2013 2:49 pm @Conor I have his run, there are "parts" of a brighter Batman but the overall story hasn't done anything to change the image of a man obsessed with his war on crime, violence and death followed. Comparing the last few issues of Batman inc to the last few issues of Snyders Batman, I fail to see a difference in the grim and dark department.
August 20, 2013 2:45 pm Can I just say that video games were originally for kids as well? There are more family friendly video games for kids than comics, but the more popular video games as well as the majority of video games are for adults. Video games grew up as we did. Why are we griping about this? My daughter is two and she thinks Dora is an idiot, most "for kids" stuff merely talks down to kids.
August 20, 2013 2:39 pm I believe Batman RIP is the perfect example of what Batman is, but I disagree that Morrison wasn't writing a damaged Batman. Arkham Asylum pushed the point that Batman is just as crazy as the inmantes and Batman RIP shows a Batman so obsessed with his mission that he's willing to poison, bury, create back up personalities, and literally bring himself close to death. What about any of that said Morrison was trying to get rid of that image (the correct image of Batman) ?
August 20, 2013 2:34 pm I may be alone in the opinion that Batman is supposed to be dark and gloomy with no humor. That's the way I have always wanted Batman to be.
August 15, 2013 11:18 am No one knows the joker is even involved with the Red Hood gang up to this point. I'm curious why you continue to buy and read Snyder's run if you haven't been enjoying it?
August 14, 2013 11:22 pm Also, having re-read the issue I feel like your review is pretty unfair. One small scene similar to Miller's story isn't enough to ignore every thing else that happened in the issue, or in the entire story so far. We're getting incredible art and a more modern and edgy origin story with a better villain. You have your opinions, I get that, but I have to disagree.
August 14, 2013 10:28 pm Its fair to say that Batman should be a frequent POTW. Batman is a super hero that is easy to love, and for almost two years now this title has had some of the most stellar artwork and writing in comics
August 14, 2013 10:26 pm It's great to see Scott Snyder commenting on ifanboy again.
