August 20, 2013 11:05 am Wasn't this the cover that Sean Murphy was so annoyed about on twitter? I think they edited his original artwork.
August 20, 2013 8:02 am Agreed. Easily my favourite Bat-movie song, and one of the best Pumpkins songs ever.
August 14, 2013 6:07 pm The storyline for each book wraps at issue 16. I'm more interested to find out who's doing issue 17. New creative team hopefully, Fraction hasn't been at his best here, with only Allred saving FF.
August 14, 2013 1:58 pm Even Geoff johns is faltering in the Nu52. Nothing he's done has been to the standard he hit in the old DCU. He was always the guy who wrote about legacy in teams and characters. Maybe being robbed of that angle in the new continuity is part of the drop in standard?
August 14, 2013 12:53 pm Dark Horse have a better track record with licensed properties than most. I'm hopeful.
August 14, 2013 10:50 am Those references to old characters really don't interrupt the story. It's nothing you need to know to enjoy the story. You should definitely give it a go.
August 14, 2013 10:39 am Not a fan of Irving on this book. He's a great artist but he just doesn't click with this title.
August 13, 2013 1:29 pm I think the subjective note at the start was very apt for this review. I think without it the review would be very self-contradictory. You say you don't like Hickman's writing because he pulls from Marvel history and drops in old characters without helping the new reader. Then you gush about him using old chapters that are very, very niche because you like them and a have a nostalgic attachment to them. I'm pretty hopeful for this. I think there's been quite a slow burn build up through the Avengers titles and even through the post-Forever F4 storylines. Hickman has pretty much nailed every landing on all his series to date so I'm pretty excited to see where he's gonna take us.
August 13, 2013 12:58 pm Spotted Molly on twitter saying the filming was quite pleasant but as everyone knows its the editing that makes or breaks these types of shows and can turn it from something fun to something voyeuristic and sleazy very easily. Fandemonium is a much better title. I wonder would the participants have been as keen to join the show if they knew the final title?
August 13, 2013 10:29 am You beat me to it! Hopefully they'll make it watchable and not exploitative, but the show's title doesn't inspire confidence.
