March 25, 2014 3:48 am It'd be great to have Dave on the Booksplode if you're thinking of Stray Bullets. Really been enjoying the guest presenters these last two weeks. Conor: I know the feeling when it comes to those huge books. I'm usually pretty good to get through them but after buying the Simonson Thor Omnibus on release day a few years back I still haven't read further than the introduction.
March 24, 2014 6:21 pm Really surprised you didn't pick the Stray Bullets Uber Alles Edition for the Book of the Month (especially considering how involved Ron seems to have been in its move to Image). Joyners is good as well but I don't feel it has the same weight that Stray Bullets does. I'd love to hear your opinion on it. Maybe the next Booksplode after Paul finishes Akira? He does seem to like long books! ;)
March 17, 2014 11:09 am Ali was a great guest presenter. I'd love to see her back again if the chance arises. Hawkeye was a very poor issue this week. The message was a little too on the nose and heavy-handed and had me bored after about 4 pages of the book. It added nothing to the character that we haven't already learned earlier in the series. Add to that a "kiddy-style" artist that's been done to death of late that didn't help. A pure filler issue.
March 6, 2014 3:20 am Great podcast guys. This is where it starts to deviate substantially from the movie. Really looking forward to what you think of the end of Vol 6, especially in comparison to how the movie wraps up.
January 31, 2014 5:28 pm When Dark Horse first reprinted them in the phonebook sized editions it was at a time before internet shopping was a regular thing. Combined with a severe lack of comic shops in Ireland at the time I paid €50-€60 per volume. At least €300 for the whole story. Worth every penny though! ;)
January 31, 2014 1:28 pm A great first episode guys. Can't wait to hear the next one once things start diverging and opening up from what was established in the movies.
November 10, 2013 5:21 pm I'm really missing the pulllist on iFanboy. I know it's not feasible to have it return and I'm using the pulllist feature on comixology at the moment. I find it really cumbersome to use compared to the excellent layout of the old iFanboy one. Does anyone now of a better alternative more closely resembling iFanboy's old format?
October 28, 2013 6:03 pm I was so excited for Pretty Deadly but I really didn't like that first issue. Rios was great as usual but Kelly Sue DeConnick never seems to click for me. I always feel I should like her stuff more than I do, but it just doesn't seem to be a good fit. I'm in for another issue but it better improve substantially to hold me.
September 8, 2013 5:01 pm Having a section to quickly talk about news in the podcast would be a great idea. It would have been great to hear the guys thoughts on the Batwoman controversy this week.
September 1, 2013 5:11 pm Sad to see the site wrapping up so much of the content but happy that its cause things are working out for you in the rest of your lives. PS: Will the pull list featu be going? Some of the best conversations happen on that section of the site and it added to the POTW podcast to have the community picks.
