Name: Jimmy Guikema

Bio: I am a high school alternative teacher, and am working on my Masters Degree in History. I got into comics in high school by picking up an issue of Exiles and Nightwing on a trip to Waldenbooks. The issues hooked me, and from their my addiction grew. I found a local shop, started a pull list and have enjoyed comics ever since.

October 13, 2011 1:26 pm Johns continues to make Sinestro one of the most interesting characters in the Green Lantern books. His "teaching" of Hal in this issue was fantastic and underscores what kind of character he is: he wants to make the universe better, and not just kill for the fun of it. I am a little sad that deadbeat Hal may be on the way out. I would have liked at least a couple more issues before he got the ring back, even if this is not a true ring.
October 13, 2011 1:20 pm When he is constantly rhyming it can get awkward or annoying after a while. I like it better with an occasional rhyme that fits the situation well, then one that is just there because he is supposed to rhyme.
October 13, 2011 12:59 pm I like how this season is simpler than the last. It's back to the basics but keeping the character growth that occurred over the past season. So far this season is starting off on a better foot than the last. Plus, the Spike involvement makes it more fun.
October 13, 2011 12:57 pm I agree with you, the reason Damian had calmed down in the previous series was the influence of Dick, without him there Damian is regressing back to what he used to be. Plus he does not know his father so he is back to being guarded and distant.
October 12, 2011 11:32 am This is one of the few books that Marvel keeps double shipping that I am happy about. His use of Deadpool is fantastic, and I'm looking forward to this issue with him as one of the few team members still active.
October 12, 2011 11:12 am I kept hoping they would announce either an anthology title or a team-up book for the Stan Lee line to replace all the canceled titles but it sounds like that issue 12 is the actual end, at least for now. This book was one of my favorite discoveries when I bought issues 1 and 2 after listening to the podcast rave about it. I'm really sad that it is going away.
October 12, 2011 11:08 am That's my plan, the series I put on my pull list, but the first issue was disappointing I'm giving until issue 3 until dropping. I like the Legion and have liked what Nicieza has written in the past so I am willing to give him a couple issues to get it together.
October 12, 2011 10:43 am I really like this series! Dragon Age has become one of my favorite video games, and I am reading through the Song of Fire and Ice books now (but have not seen the HBO show yet), and when Cornell said those two were influences for him I knew I had to try this book. I loved the first issue and hope this one keeps the momentum going.
October 7, 2011 2:38 pm I really liked this book. It was a solid quick-paced action story, looked really good, and was a 4-star book for me. After reading the DC All-Access it seemed to hint that this in some way is connected to Earth 2. The story seemed to indicate that Huntess was the one that has existed in the regular DCU in recent years, but I'm curious if anyone thinks this is taking place on Earth-2 and this is the Batman's daughter version?
October 7, 2011 2:03 pm But because he thinks its related to Superman, and because he has the rocket, I think it must be Kryptonian in some way.
