I dunno, but that's pretty impressive.
And you make a good point. Reminiscing about and paying homage to the Good Old Days kind of sucks for everyone who didn't actually have Good Old Days.
@captbastrd You can not like someone and be against the same things they're against. Odds are good that somebody out there loves the '70s Luke Cage stories as much as I do, but is a completely reprehensible human being. C'est la vie, you know?
@razorEdge757 Thanks man, good to know that this is appreciated.
@TheNextChampion My favorite prose author in comics right now is easily Charlie Huston. His Deathlok series with art by Lan Medina is like a 21st century dystopia with '80s urban wasteland style art. It's fantastic.
@Selfstyler Go for the surprise, I say.
@stulach You should definitely read the Wondercon transcript. He teases several possible books that he'll be working on now that he's free of DC.
And I'm with Josh. The only way the Rucka book could be better is if he and Ennis just set up War Comics, Inc. and pumped out war books on a monthly basis as their own publisher. Bonus points if Joe Kubert or Chris Samnee (who I think would shine on a war book) does an issue or two.
While I'm daydreaming about things that'll never happen, I'd also like Ennis and Rucka to tell the story of the same battle, but from the viewpoint of opposing sides. I also want a unicorn.
@whoisfriend The 3in1s are awesome. Viz's omnibus manga (3in1, Vizbig) are the best way to read chunks of manga. I hope they do more.
One Piece is basically the best adventure comic. Case in point: http://www.4thletter.net/2010/03/unforgiven-one-piece-and-suspended-expectations/
Oh wow, yeah, the 700k article is totally gone now, even. My bad on that front, but still-- 300k? That's still a pretty good run. I'm interested in seeing the first week sales, too.
@Gabe He said a very little something-- "Wait til San Diego" :)
Ha, had you checked this trade out before I told you what was in it? What a pleasant surprise this book turned out to be. You've got that wonderfully chunky JRjr art (with the modular arm!), Garrison Kane, and just general insanity.
Good pick.

I'm pscyhed for Fraction, Brubaker, and Dodson. Land is almost a deal breaker for the whole shebang, though.
