October 7, 2013 2:12 pm Sorry my phone betrayed me. But while fables is mostly urban the homelands stuff is straight fantasy.
October 7, 2013 2:03 pm Since no else has brought it up Helheim by Cullen Bunn and Joelle Jones is a rock solid fantasy book full of Vikings, witches and monsters. Plenty of heads and limbs getting hacked off by battle axes as well as magic and other fun stuff. Also gotta throw fables in there, even tho a l
September 2, 2013 4:29 am I usually download the pod before work but it wasn't up in time yesterday and I grabbed it on my phone at work instead. So for the first time in probably 250 episodes(I don't remember my first exactly but around 150) I didn't check out the show notes to make sure I didn't ruin any books I hadn't gotten to yet and wow what a shocker. I'm going to miss all the cool weekly stuff like panels and covers, all the funny and insightful columns, movie and DVD reviews, and most especially the pull list. Goddamn I love me some pull list. It's gonna be weird to not be able to come here tomorrow and see what's going on in comics, that's for sure. So yeah, thanks to everyone who contributed to the site. I want to thank Conor, Josh, Paul and of course Ron for doing the podcast every week and helping me burn through an hour of work like nothin. It was pretty sweet to have my written reviews read on a few pods and while I guess that'll never happen again, I will look forward to listening to the show every damn week. Same as it ever was.
August 27, 2013 1:15 am Been looking forward to this for a long while, hope it's as cool as it sounds. I lol'd at "Becky Cloonan (Batman)" in the solicit tho. One half of an issue and that's what she's known for? Demo was Vertigo and it is what really made me a fan of her art.
July 8, 2013 4:23 pm What's this, a random Paul Pope one shot, prequel to the long awaited (for me) Battling Boy? Very excited, been a while since he's done a full issue and his art is always a treat.
May 1, 2013 5:10 pm On my way to the comic shop, I was discussing fables and this series with my friend and I was talking about a certain character that was long overdue to return. Then that character showed up on the final page of this issue. Creepy!
May 1, 2013 4:46 pm Wow Paul you are 2 for 2 in great pick of the months. I talked a little with Matt Kindt at emerald con and he said Mind MGMT was planned to go 36 issues. I told him I loved all the clues and backstory in the gutters and he told me his wife hates them. Good stuff.
January 9, 2013 5:12 pm I'm with you Xtianhardy, this and swampy are just not doing it for me anymore. It's crazy how much Travel Forman really made this a top tier book. Now the art is crap and the story is dragging.
January 2, 2013 2:19 am Last issue for a whole year. Brutal. I'm sure it's gonna be great, just hope it isn't a super cliff hanger.
December 5, 2012 7:07 pm Welcome back Frank! Oh man it's so good to see Fury and Punny getting into it in 'Nam. I always liked it when Parlov did an arc in PunisherMax, but in this book he's upped his game. Great stuff, glad this didn't turn out to just be a mini.
