Basically showing January as a normal drop off month. Makes sense, after the holidays there isn't a lot of money available, until after your rebates come in and your returns are complete.
Even the movie was boring.
Personal opinion.
Your suggestions on what we fans can do is spot on and something we should ALWAYS do, not just during a low sales point. I push Fables all the time because that book is AWESOME!
Both Powell and Harris are doing a great job making themselves less interesting to me. I have some of Powell's books, and plan to read Godzilla (not because of Powell but because I'm a fan of Godzilla) but I don't agree with him blaming me for reading Amazing Spider-Man for the fact some 'indie' comic doesn't sell. Not my fault. Give me an indie comic that interests me and I'll read it.
My collection is full of indies that I like from Nightmares & Fairy Tales to Strangers in Paradise.
Don't put your failures on me. Give me something worth reading and I'll support it. Otherwise stop trying to push me away by, well, by being a jerk about it.
Maybe I should be clear on my remarks: If someone stole the work of Tony Moore, for ANY reason, then they are Scum of the Earth. I'll stand by that. Anyone who steals the product of someone else hard work like this is true scum. Even more so if they try to sell the pages off.
That makes them lower than scum.
This is just within the sphere of the industry in which this website is based, an industry we are all fans and supporters of. It's like someone coming into your house and crapping on your couch.
I'm going to smell my comic and see what if mine was like that, I read mine as soon as I got home (it was more important than Fantastic Four since Marvel pissed me off by screwing the fans over in favore of a cheap pop) so my nose was still very cold and the sense of smell wasn't working.
LOVED. IT.
Fine, I'll put my support behind this book for the first issue. When it's released I'll buy a copy of it. I won't make any promises after that because, to me, the premise sounds very boring. (Hoping to be surprised though!)
Creator owned and mainstream don't have to be different things. Myself, for the most part, I just see comics. If it's good (in my opinion) I'll buy it until I can't find it anymore. I did that with Last Blood from Blatant Press years ago. I loved that book and raved about it until the creator/writer, from what I remember, simply decided he didn't want to make comics anymore. That had nothing to do with Marvel or DC the creator just walked away.
Powell comes off as bitter. Almost as if he's saying his books aren't selling because of Spider-Man. It's never the creators fault, it's always someone else's
Everything from the great EC Comics to Fables and Nightmares & Fairy Tales. The point is, like those mindless drones who ;love' movies 'based' on comics, popular doesn't always mean right but to whine and moan like this just makes you sound lame.
I'm buying IDW's Godzilla comic. I have to admit I'm not getting it because Powell is writing it I'm getting it becuase I've been a G-Fan most of my life. Does that make me a bad person? No.
