This explains Gnort.

Josh:   On a planet once ruled by the gods, a holy piece of excrement is chosen as its defender.  Yeah, I'd read that.

Josh -

This seems like a convoluted way to get financing for self-pubishing.

Congrats

My two choices would be:

 1.  Patsy Walker, Hellcat, or Tigra - group needs a cougar.  (Yes, Spiderwoman is cold.)

2.  Black Widow or Mockingbird for martial conflict.

bq:  a top three:

For Others:  Classic Rush - "If you chose not to decide, you still have made a choice."

For Ron:  Smiths - "If a ten ton truck crashes into us, to die by your side is a heavenly way to die."

For myself:  TMBG - "When you're following an angel, does it mean you have to throw your body off a building?"

I picked up the issue after Howard the Duck lost the presidential race and fought (?) against a Canadian beaver.  I'm surprised that you didn't mention that Kiss' first appearence in comics was in an issue of Howard the Duck, when they emerged from his mind during an exorcism.

During a period when some comics seemed interchangeable, you could always tell which ones were written by Gerber.  You could always tell.

P.S. Ironically, I had asked for a Steve Gerber topic of the weekly video shop.   Thanks for filling the void.

Two of my favorite literary things during college (Watchmen and the Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker trilogy) are now movies.

I loved Hitchhiker the movie.  I thought it captured the feel of the books.   But, most people just didn't get it.  The planned sequel was shelved (when has Disney ever done this before?).

I expect my Watchmen experience to be similar.  I expect to love it and be surrounded by people that don't get it.

I think anyone that reads the book before seeing the movie has a different experience, whether it is Harry Potter, Twilight, Interview with a Vampire, V for Vendetta, or Watchmen.  I just glad I read the book.

What Geoff Johns does very well is take large groups of characters and make the stories work for their fans.

JSA - thiry members at peak....and talk about continuity issues.  Green Latern - rainbows of characters with rings (married skittles corp).  Now the Legion...legion fans are rejoicing.

Also, the Legion is the easiest of all groups to understand.  Lightning Lad - has lighting bolts on his costume - shoots lighting.  Sun boy - has a sun on his chest - sun powers.  Phantom Girl - becomes a phantom.  Polar Boy - icicles on his costume - controls cold.  Half the team can be identified quickly by name or costume.  I understand if you are having problems...but seriously, what did you expect with the title of Legion of Three Worlds (with three sets of Legion characters previously introduced) and Perez's desire to draw every legion character.

Relax...take a breath...and go with the flow.  If you get lost...Wikipedia.
