Xeno

Name: Jan Mangubat

Bio: My name is Xeno. In the real world, I go by the name Jan. I'm a law student, a Filipino and comic book fan and collector. I loved reading comics and started at the young age of 4. I only got comic books as gifts though and I had no money to buy it for myself back then, so I just got to read them occasionally. My passion for this very special art form didn't waiver though as I bought comics here and there during high school and intermittently during college. But after I graduated from college in 2009, I began collecting comic books full time. I was looking for back issues of Batman: Knightfall, and happened upon Batman: Battle for the Cowl, found it interesting, and gave it a try. I got hooked since then. I also love to draw (I would like to believe that I have above average skills) ever since I was young which probably contributed to my love for comics. I'm also interested in TV shows and movies. Philippines represent! Favorite Comic Book Character: Batman and Spider-man Favorite Comic Book: Y: the last man Favorite Comic Book Writer: Geoff Johns Favorite Comic Book Artist: Ethan Van Sciver Favorite Comic Book Publisher: Marvel and DC Comic book quirk: I only buy Marvel and DC in issues. I don't want TPBs and HCs, except its a creator owned comic book that's hard to find like the past Vertigo titles, like Y: the last man. If a non Marvel or DC comics is really good, I'd buy it, but only in HC, like The Walking Dead.

Finally a Grant Morrison writing that I could understand. I find that Morrison often writes dialogues for characters where they…

June 9, 2011 9:01 pm Is Joe Casey the one in Butch Baker? And what is Nathan Fox's previous works? I was thinking of trying Haunt and this creative team change might just give me the push.

P.S. Its official TheNextChampion you're the most famous ifanboy citizen. You mistakenly thought that a jab was taken at DC and you received tons of retort, which I found funny that's why I can't help commenting, lol

I just looked at the PotWs this week and most are from DC. They seem to be having alot of good books for someone who's "in the slump creatively speaking". I guess every dog has its day, or in this case,  its week.
June 9, 2011 8:31 pm This is a great value comic book. I didn't count the pages on this, but  thought it was very thick. Very deserving of PotW imho.
June 9, 2011 8:26 pm Is it confirmed that they'll reveal Superman tomorrow? How shocking would it be if there will be no Superman title in DCnU? Hehe.
June 8, 2011 9:48 am WTF? Those costume redesigns for the Teen Titans looks as bad as those costume redesigns of Marvel in the late 90's. And while we're on the topic of Teen Titans, it seems Tim Drake got the shorter end of the stick. Dick(Nightwing) and Todd(Red Hood and the Outlaws) got their own books, and Tim doesn't? Teen Titans is its own thing and being the leader of it is not the same thing as having his own book. <sigh>
June 6, 2011 9:16 am Wow, I totally had the same reaction as Ron! This may not have the right characters, but it does capture the essence and core of the X-men.
Watch X-Men: First Class! It's great! My review:http://wp.me/p1BlHI-2D
June 1, 2011 12:46 pm Holy loose screws, Batman!! What the f*ck was that about? Bruce Wayne looked like he's having a split personality sydrome like Gollum/Smeagol, only wackier.
May 29, 2011 3:23 am Thanks for this description of the stories. I now have an idea of what I'd be getting into so I might just pick this up.
May 27, 2011 2:37 pm I love it how Sentry: Fallen Sun has garnered infamy of being one of the worst comic book ever, like a bad joke that won't go away.

About the Flashpoint aftermath, I'm glad Conor brought it up. That same subject has other comic book sites guessing and scrambling for answers. I hope one of the ifanboy writers would write something about this topic as I would love to know the opinion of the ifanboy community.
May 27, 2011 2:34 am I'm neither a fan of any of these creators nor daredevil, but an upbeat vibe in a superhero comics is just what I've been looking for, so I might just give this one a try. If my pocket can take any  more hemorrhaging that is.
