June 3, 2009 8:26 pm I really didn't want to like this as I've been trying to shorten my pull list.  Just finished reading it.  It's a really good book.  Oh well...
June 2, 2009 11:53 am I'll bite! :D
June 2, 2009 11:51 am Never read this as I planned on eventually picking up the trades.  Looks like the start of a new arc.  Is this a good jumping on issue?  How much back story is necessary to enjoy this going forward? Should I read the tpbs first?
May 29, 2009 11:38 am I like your interpretation with regard to expectations but the issue still bored me.  Character dialog and development is good when you have an emotional attachment to the characters.  At this point, I should feel more for these characters but I don't, so taking time to smell the roses just doesn't work.
May 29, 2009 11:25 am Agreed, seemed like Ennis was playing catch up on the character interaction and development.  That's fine but I was a bit bored with this issue.  I wanted a little "zombie torture porn" mixed in.
May 28, 2009 8:17 pm Yep, I agree, the analogy to a summer blockbuster popcorn flick with plenty of fan service from the get go is accurate, and there ain't nothing wrong with that.  Not every comic book needs to be deep, wordy and unpredictible.  I am entertained. Very enjoyable.
May 28, 2009 3:51 pm Regardless of what you thought of the story, it's hard to believe the art was only "2" worthy.  Is your score impacted by the fact the book is delayed?

I guess it wasn't perfect in every way.

*waits for TNC to protest giant sized issue in 3 months and then pick it up*  ;p

May 27, 2009 2:05 pm Correction: 13-18 then 19-24.
May 27, 2009 2:03 pm I believe each tpb volume covers 6 issues.  It's 1-6, 7-12, 13-19, etc..
