May 3, 2011 11:47 pm Steve, Tony, and Thor reminiscing at the local tavern. "Remember that time we had to save the Universe? Not not that time, the other time... No not that time either. The other other time... No. The time three times before that time. Yeah that time. Good times".
May 3, 2011 11:43 pm @conor I meant more of a PR failure before it even premiers. I mean imagine if either the Thor or Cap movies receive reviews of Ishtar-ian proportions. Then I can see the general movie going public holding their noses before even seeing the Avengers, or even worse, not go to see it at all. This is the big one. It was either going to be Avengers or JLA, and depending on success or failure, you just know it will determine the landscape of Superhero movies (at least Team ones), for the next 12 to 15 years. A lots riding on the execution of this series of movies, and I really hope they get it right.
May 3, 2011 2:58 am I have been anticipating, AND dreading the Thor movie for.some time now. Not that I hate Thor. I love the character. It's that between Thor and Cap, the potential for one of those movies to suck, and therefore kill, the Avengers movie is very real. right now we have Iron Man. And like I said on my show, most people have a good feeling about that franchise. But if either of the upcoming movies craps the bed, it will cast a long shadow in that the Avengers might only be as strong as it's weakest link in some folks eyes. Imagine now if Thor is incredibly awesome. Now even moreso will I be worried that Cap will stink it up, and piss all in my Avengers punchbowl. I am in my mid forties, and have been dreaming about a live action Avengers film for the vast majority of those years. Now that it is in reach, I am terrified something is going to fuck it all up before it's even released. Yes. I know I have issues, but the culmination of a lifelong dream doesnt come around but once in a lifetime, and I am sitting on the edge of my seat hoping all goes well.
May 2, 2011 8:36 pm I hope this makes them reconsider Howard The Duck as the big bad.
April 28, 2011 3:22 pm In a statement released early today, Captain America had only this to say: "Fuck him. I was going to deport his candy ass anyway".
April 23, 2011 3:25 pm I love these types of stories, especially when Marvel digs thru it's silver and bronze era goodness. Consider me at the table with two spoons ready, and my napkin tucked in.
April 22, 2011 3:33 pm I though of another log to throw onto the Punisher is NOT Batman bonfire. Frank is all about REVENGE. His family was killed, and that turned him into a hate machine with taste for dead criminals. The hole created by the murder of his family will NEVER BE FILLED! It doesn't matter how many bad guys he kills because it will never be enough to fill the hole where his family used to be. Bats on the other hand is more about making the world safe for others. The best way for him to do that is to take as many criminals off the street as possible. Alive... Unless something goes wrong. Batman has a family now. Hate is not a motivator. The Joe Chill thing has gone back and forth so many times that I forget what the current version is, but Bats would've been able to just eliminate the "person" that killed his parents, and that would have been it. It's not. Batman's continuing motivation, to me, is that there are other families out there, and he wants them to never have to go thru what he did.
April 19, 2011 2:19 pm What makes the action sequences in this (The Plane, and the bad guy fight) less special for me, is that I paid for a ticket and treats, as well as sat thru the rest of the film, to see them.
April 18, 2011 7:31 pm Blaming the dismal failure that this movie was on the time of year it came out, is like saying a shit sandwich would taste better in the evening and not for breakfast. The movie sucked Bryan.
April 18, 2011 7:26 pm They are obviously involved in Paul's death somehow.
