Name: Tyler Reed

Bio: I LOVE STORIES. I started reading comics, mostly in trade form, in 2010; after enjoying so many of the stories as movies, I wanted to try out the source material. My new hobby quickly became an addiction(the good kind) and I'm so glad I gave comic books a chance. CURRENT FAVORITES: Mignolaverse, The Unwritten, Fatale, FF, Young Avengers, Manhattan Projects, Saga, Winter Soldier, The Massive, Wonder Woman, and Daredevil.

August 26, 2013 8:02 pm Agreed. I'm reading Prophet in trade, and I just finished the second one, WOW that is one trippy, fantastic book.
August 26, 2013 7:58 pm But Roger is back! Plus it's Franco & Baltazar! I can't pass this up, and I'm stoked it got bumped up to 5 issues.
August 26, 2013 7:45 pm Yeah, it reads like a list I would make if asked who some of my favorites are.
August 23, 2013 1:18 pm I thought this was great as well. I liked the medieval-horror vibe it had with the mysterious cult guys, and the townspeople hiding in terror. This definitely ramped up the excitement, and I'm kind of bummed there is only six more issues left. I wasn't crazy about the Azaceta artwork, but that's just my preference; he did a fine job storytelling, I'm just not a fan of his inking style--too heavy.
August 23, 2013 12:44 pm I enjoyed this very much. There was a lot of ground to cover between Liz's recovery, Fenix's journey, and the BPRD's status, but Arcudi masterfully touched on all of it, and included some enticing new developments as well. It was awesome to see Liz back after so long, I had nearly gotten used to her being out of the picture. Hopefully she can store up some strength because I have a feeling she's gonna have to go full nova again, or work with Padma to harness some new tricks in order to save the planet. I didn't realize how much I missed Tyler Crook's art till I opened this book up, all the recent guest artists have done a fine job, but it was great to see the mainstay back in action. Crook has such a wonderful handle on economy of line, and the amount of expression he achieves in his characters faces is incredible. Whether in a boardroom of talking heads, or a disaster zone full of Ogdru Jahad, Tyler Crook's deceptively simple work is some of the best in comics.
August 23, 2013 2:36 am While this news comes as a big surprise, I'm optimistic that this can work just fine. Affleck wasn't the problem with DD, it was the script and costume. Plus he won't be carrying the entire movie, it's Batman AND Superman, and I think Ben is best when he has others to play off of. I think he could pull off a great Bruce, I just hope he can do as well under the cowl.
August 22, 2013 12:24 pm Great pick and wonderful article Paul. This book has truly been the gem of the new52, the epic adventures of Diana and Co. so far have been a joy to follow every month. With Diana's new status in the pantheon, it seems like the story is only going to get better from here on out. I think Azzarello's ability to build one giant arc out of many smaller ones is pretty amazing; it could have easily gotten stale by now, but that is not the case, arc by arc it has only gotten better.
August 20, 2013 11:18 pm Totally agree. The first issue of this was great, although I'm still partial to Tonci Zonjic's interior work on this title, Sebastian Fiumara did a wonderful job. The last page with all the freaky-ass monkeys was a fantastic cliffhanger.
August 19, 2013 7:32 pm Nice mellow week for me. I'm really looking forward to Silver Surfer's appearance in DD, Wonder Woman and more fantastic stuff from the Mignolaverse with BPRD and Lobster Johnson. BPRD Conan Daredevil Lobster Johnson Wonder Woman BQ: aside from my childhood standby's like Looney Tunes and Popeye, I'd have to go with the Animated Dennis the Menace; he was pretty much my idol as a kid (I was blonde, with freckles, and a penchant for causing harmless trouble). I was also a big fan of the Disney afternoon block: Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin, and Darkwing Duck. Oh! and I can't leave out The Adventures of the Gummi Bears.
August 17, 2013 2:31 am I can't say much more about this book except that I love it. The art, the story, it's all absolutely fantastic. POTW for me, and it was an easy choice (disclaimer I'm not reading Thor).
