TroyH

Name: Troy Hickman

Bio: I write funnybooks. Among them are the Eisner-nominated Common Grounds, the Pilot Season-winning Twilight Guardian (the first issue of which just came out; for the love of Zod, run to the comics shop!), City of Heroes (and I've also written for the game itself), Witchblade, the Incredible Hulk (in ACTOR Comics Presents), Turok, and a bunch of other stuff. I also teach at a college, but that's not nearly as much fun...

January 31, 2011 2:12 am If I may clear up the question, I wrote the Twilight Guardian mini-comics in 1993 and 1995. When Top Cow asked me about using her in the 2008 Pilot Season competition, I took the story from those minis, merged it together, added some new material (mainly the insert pages that show TG reading old comics), and voila, the Pilot Season one-shot was born. This new mini-series is a continuation of that. So TG has been around for eighteen years now...you've gotta love the funnybook biz...
January 30, 2011 8:24 pm Great show, guys! And thanks much for mentioning Twilight Guardian. I could almost hear the crowd thinking "what the hell is that?" I'll see what I can do to remedy that...
January 28, 2011 1:57 am What a tremendous review! The "most compelling new character in comics"? There's a quote!

Hopefully TG will have some life beyond this mini-series. Either way, the next three issues contain work that I am very, very proud of, and I'm glad to have you along.

Thanks so much for your comments!
January 28, 2011 1:53 am Yeah, I'll be the first to admit it moves along at quite a clip, but I'm trying to get through the story in the four issues I've got. Glad you're along for the rest of the series; I think we've got some cool issues ahead. Thanks so much for the excellent review!
January 28, 2011 1:50 am And I'll thank you again for really understanding what we're doing here. Great, great review.
January 25, 2011 3:27 pm Mentally ill? Why, I'll have you know Twilight Guardian is just as sane as I am...maybe more so!

That's OK, J, I'll give it a shot anyway, using the above as a template:

The Pilot Season Winner Returns, and It's Darned Well About Time!

The tale of a lone dedicated hero who is ALMOST as crazy as her creator captured the imagination of fans after its writer begged and pleaded with everyone he knows to throw him a bone and vote for it!

Now creator and writer Troy Hickman, one of comicdom's most notorious reprobates, returns with a four issue series which will (A) give readers more info on just who Twilight Guardian is and why she do that voodoo that she do so well, (B) showcase about three dozen news superheroes and villains (not bad for a comic that takes place in a nine-block area, eh?), and enables Hickman to stay in his apartment for another few months.

Story: Troy "Don't blame me, I was dropped as a baby" Hickman
Art: Siddarth "The Botticelli of Bombay" Kotian
Eric "How the Heck Did I Get Mixed Up With These Guys" Jones

Size: 32 pages (because THE MAN is afraid to give us more!)

Price: $3.99 (sell some plasma; it's worth it!)
January 24, 2011 9:03 pm Y'know, based on your recommendations, I may get it too! ;)
November 18, 2010 2:45 am Double J, I sent you an email about Twilight Guardian, as I knew you'd be on that thing! Thanks for continuing to be TG's biggest fan!
March 27, 2009 12:40 pm Gabe, assuming you meant Twilight Guardian, that's a compliment, as FNL is one of my favorite shows!
