April 7, 2015 11:12 pm So with this talk about the different eras of iFanboy I figured I'd ask a question, though I fear I know the answer. Currently episodes of the Murmur podcast are unavailable, do you guys have them archived somewhere, or has it suffered the same fate as Around Comics (R.I.P.)?
March 19, 2015 8:26 pm I agree, it was probably they wouldn't know if it would work out so they didn't want to commit to something before the schedule was all worked out and confirmed.
March 17, 2015 3:20 pm If someone wants to listen to some good Maine accents there's a documentary on Burt's Bees on Netflix with lots of good examples.
March 4, 2015 1:33 pm Thanks for pointing that out, I'm definitely going to try and track that one-shot down, it sounds great.
February 15, 2015 11:28 pm I was a little apprehensive of the start of this arc of Southern Bastards because as you guys pointed out the obvious parallel is with Red Crow in Scalped and I was worried that the point of the arc was going to be trying to make me like Coach Boss. I don't like Coach Boss and I don't want to like Coach Boss. He's just all the way through a bad person (as you can see from the shorts). This arc, and especially this issues, didn't change that at all, but it did make me care about him. Like Conor I'm really just itching to see what happens next and when we get back to where issue #4 left us I'm not going like Coach Boss any more or sympathize with him at all, but I am going to care and I think that's a really important step for this series. I also thought the comment about the art in some ways resembling Jeff Lemire's work on Essex County was really interesting as from the start I've thought there were a lot of interesting parallels between Essex County and Southern Bastards in terms of the small town settings with the sports and just what each work means personally for its creators. I like to imagine there's some alternate universe where in 2007 instead of creating Scalped Jason Aaron goes to Top Shelf and pitches his idea for a series of small town tales called Craw County.
January 31, 2015 6:02 pm Glad to see you're sticking around as part of the brain trust Paul! I also agree with Ryan, I've always wanted to see a Red Son animated film, I think it'd be perfect.
January 19, 2015 5:01 pm Who will talk about Stray Bullets now?!
January 16, 2015 12:34 am At first I thought The Fade Out was going to tread similar ground to Satellite Sam (not that that would be a bad thing as I really like Satellite Sam), but it's definitely a very different book. It was weird however reading the issue right after Men of Wrath and getting confused for a split second by Earl Rath. I would buy that crossover by the way.
October 29, 2014 8:31 pm P.P.S. The movie where Winona Ryder is old and does an old voice is Edward Scissorhands at the end. Also in regards to seeing Pacific Rim after seeing Sons of Anarchy, I've never seen Sons of Anarchy, but I by chance rewatched Undeclared during the week before Pacific Rim came out and for the whole movie could only picture Lloyd.
October 29, 2014 8:17 pm You joked, but I actually just recently purchased Zumba for the Kinect on the Xbox for my mother on Amazon. P.S. Paul keep up the Stray Bullets, iI'm right there with you.
