Easily the best issue of JMS's run so far. I liked the scenes between Clark & Dick, and was pleasently surprised by the kryptonite plot twist; I can't wait to see where this goes! I also love Eddy Barrow's art; his style is dynamic, modern and clean; unlike the scratchy lines popping up all over Marvel's line lately (what's up with that?).

All in all this is shapping up to be a memorable run by JMS; of course the haters will scream and shot all over the net just like they did with Spider-Man and Thor. I feel sorry for comic fans who spend their money and/or time on books they don't enjoy. I vote with my wallet, not my annonymous internet voice.

    Up, up and away Superman!

AMEN! This is easily the best team book in shelves right now. If you're not reading it, you're really missing out.

I can't begin to describe how bad this book is. The "writing" is even worse than Fraction's Uncanny, and trust me, that is utter crap. The art is barely above cartooniss; looks like Paco Medina rushed through the whole thing. I won't go into the "plot" because frankly there isn't much of it. The multitude of tie-ins is staggering but I don't blame Marvel for milking the zombies dry while they can. Needless to say I won;t be picking this up anymore.

September 23, 2009 8:06 pm Spider-Man is FUN and interesting again!
September 23, 2009 8:05 pm And yes, I agree, "The Confession" is a complete waste of money. I flipped through it in the shop and dropped it back like a plague.

Good stories and decent-to-good art. It's nice to see

@ zattaric - You think it's believable that Namor would dispose of ****** in such a manner? To just dump the body at Norman and leave it there like trash? He knows very well is not her fault. And why would he abandon her now that she's alive again? He grieved for her. He looked for her for years. He fought to save her soul.

This is so NOT Namor I can't even begin to describe it.

It might make him look bad ass, but it also makes him look like a complete moron and a coward. He's always been noble and loyal to his loved ones. Since when is ****** just a piece of trash to him? Go back and read the old stories. This Namor is nothing like the one we've known for MANY years before.

September 23, 2009 7:54 pm The most gorgeously illustrated book of the year. And the writing is pretty good, too. And agree with Sietz82, ditch the backup and give us more Batwoman!!!

Craptastic writing and decent art... everything that defines Marvel under Quesada.

Is it too much to ask for the writers to READ a character's history before "writing" him/her into their stories? Under Fraction, Namor is unrecognizable. I'm not going to spoil the 'twist' of the story, but suffice it to say Namor geniunly loved certain person in his past and would never treat them is such a callous, ignoble way. The last scene with ever-present Norman is a slap in the face to all Namor fans who know his as a NOBLE, COURAGEOUS king; not a callous bully who forgets about the love and grief of the past.

Rating = ZERO. Don't waste your money.

It definitely lives up to the hype. If you're a Titans fan (the characters, not the current so-so run) this is the book for you. Benes' art is simply gorgeous to look at. Krull's story is creepy and heartbreaking at the same time, with a sprinkle of horror on top. I've missed Terra and Omen (Lilith) since they got unecessarily killed in past runs; seeing them like this now is a grim reminder of their lost potential. Can't wait for issue #2!

My score for BN tie-ins is 3-0 so far.
