March 30, 2011 12:42 pm Bit off topic but........There seems to be this rational that if you don't read issues as and when they come out you can no longer be a part of a comics community or enjoy brilliant sites like this one. I really, really don't understand that. I pretty much stick exclusively to trades (though i will admit I picked up some issues recently - mostly the .1's and No 1's). Anyway, most times I go weeks or even months without reading comics yet I still enjoy this site. I'm on here every couple of days. I'm not bothered by spoilers either, and even if I was chances are that I would have forgotten them by the time I have the chance to pick up the trade.

I understand that maintaining the single issue market is important, if nothing else to serve as an indicator to publishers what will sell and what should be cancelled. But surely this is where digital can pick up the slack? Once that stuff hits full speed maybe we'll reach a point where printed issues are phased out and the only printed comics are trades? Thoughts?

I guess what I'm saying is, come over here and join the Trade Waiter Cult. Come on. it's better over here. We have money for cake! :)
March 5, 2011 7:50 pm My parents always said: "If you don't have anything positive to say, don't speak at all." So.......... I shall say nothing.

Except, did I see Nathan Fillion in there? Oh Nathan, you can do so much better.
February 17, 2011 7:04 pm @RoiVampire  Yeah....... I feel like I might have set that off. My apologies!
February 17, 2011 6:16 pm I want a Fear Agent Omnibus more than I want my next breath.

Awesome job Ron!
February 17, 2011 5:09 pm So, which one is the Hammer of Rage and which one is the Hammer of Compassion?

@RoiVampire I joke, I joke. I wanted to see if I really could break this thing :)
February 14, 2011 9:31 am Fantastic work Pau.... I mean Namor! Solid advice.

(Now if, and i'm just typing hypothetically here, if a certain writer was putting words in the Regal One's mouth, well, he certainly did a brilliant job capturing his voice).

Now i'm off to track down some Namor comics.
February 6, 2011 5:04 pm My word, thats awesome! Lots of trailers coming out tonight, huh? Makes my first Super Bowl (I'm British) so much more exciting!
February 6, 2011 8:46 am I respectfully disagree. Most of this is focused on coming up with new and clever ways to belittle Marvel and Dan Slott. You give the art a 2 without any explanation/justification for your opinion in the body of the text. You seem to trash the story simply because its going in a direction that you don't like and because it differs from the previous 600 odd issues in that "Peter Parker is happy."

I will concede that you make a valid point about the exposition. But thats about it. I guess what i mean is, as a review, this isnt vey well thought out.

January 31, 2011 10:51 am Great article Josh. However, whats the answer here? We shouldn't blame the readers for making a decision to buy one thing and not another, because its their prerogative as consumers. We (well some of us) also make the decision to trade wait, and as harmful as that is in some cases its also a perfectly valid decision. And yet, we shouldn't really blame the publishers because they are only providing a product they know will sell. They are in business after all. So......where does the change come from?

I actually divide my money pretty equally between Marvel and various smaller publishers so i dont think im doing anything wrong. But it seems like theres always someone upset with the state of the industry because its so... static.
