April 10, 2013 4:39 pm I totally agree. It does stink of that. Very well put. Much better than my somewhat sad and all over the place rant. You sir are a gentlemen and a scholar, sir.
April 10, 2013 4:29 pm Allowing BKV here to get away with throwing incendiary lobs is....industry standard. He had the comic equivalent of a sex tape come out, with this hopefully misinformed assumption. But it reeks of pr stunt and lazyness that a writer of his stature shouldn't be making. Kirkman told the industry to do better, Bendis too, why don't other writers of BKV stature and marketability insist on such easy thinking? I know I am dropping Saga because if Aaron Sorkin did something like this, they would call him out on it, and it is a bad thing that in this respect we have a well respected writer acting privileged and oppressed, when he is obviously at a position few can get to, yet everyone just shuffles away because he did a weak mea culpa and he is BKV, long lost comics writer returned, and former Lost writer.
January 24, 2013 12:13 pm I hope Norton is collecting a really sweet check for this. It seems kind of weird.
December 6, 2012 1:11 pm Thank you Jonathan Hickman for reminding me of Final Fantasy ps2 games. And thank you iFanboy because I didn't have to spend 4 bucks to remember.
September 24, 2012 12:18 pm Good article, Jim. I myself haven't bought any Marvel books in a year since the "Boycott all the books Kirby made" thing came about from Bisette. And all of the offerings by the new Marvel line just scream to me "What if Jason Aaron and Rick Remender had time for independent books?"
September 7, 2012 1:11 pm I was super excited for this book, as I want Bendis to do something I am interested in again, but that art looks like it should be called The Man With No Fear Strikes Again. Except for that two panel page (really Bendis?) with the Mack, Maleev style this art seems like it has sunk any possible enjoyment from this project.
September 7, 2012 1:07 pm That McKelvie Panel with the gun seems lazy. He didn't increase the size, like a zoom in, he kinda just seemed to keep it at normal size.
June 7, 2012 1:58 pm Is there any information when it will be available to be purchased in my comic shop? I'm not against Digital, I just don't own a fancy do-dad, and want to read this.
April 24, 2012 11:16 am I really have no idea what the Goon is about, or what the stories are about. I used to think it was a pulpy crime book (I've never read it), and I don't know if I can get into something like that. Is there a good story we could check out that doesn't have anything to do with Marvel/DC bashing (not that Eric Powell shouldn't have his free speech, but I just want good stories)?
