Love it, love it, love it.  I passed by this book so many times because I thought it was going to be flimsy and not really a good story but man I was wrong.  This book is really entertaining and it gives a close up look at a famous super family like no other book has done...it's fresh.

Check it out, it's worth it.

April 23, 2008 3:59 pm I've really enjoyed Blood and Roses.  The story is about two heros (ladies) that time travel searching for crystal like shards.  One of the two ladies is a cop from the present and the other lady is a warrior from the past.  Some of the art is not my favorite but the story is great.  There is also a on-line version at the Blood and Roses Website that is free...check it out.  Bobby Hickey (the writer) owns a Comic Book Store and Blue Line Prints both of which are in my home town, it's been a pleasure to drop in and see him on occassion.  But honestly I'm not trying to be bias because this truly is a good read.
April 23, 2008 3:53 pm I think this is a great book, I'm sorry to hear that it's going to end.  I heard that a lot of people were upset with the baby not being Bruce Wayne's.  Not to mention that some people didn't like her giving up her daughter either.  I guess I was happy to see her with out her daughter around AND I think complication the story with Bruce being the father is just too much as well.  Still it's a great story.
March 13, 2008 1:08 pm I really like this series.  There are stronger books out there but this series has been good.  Maybe because I love Green Arrow.  I have to agree with Conner (from the video cast) I too am drawn to the hero's that don't have super powers, thus I really like Green Arrow.  Green Arrow is also featured in another series with Cat Woman, Batman, Metamorpho etc (the title escapes me right now) and it is starting out on the right foot.  I love the artwork on the other title too.  Maybe someone knows the book I'm thinking of, if so please post.

Hi Josh!  I love the podcast, you Ron and Conner have recommended tons of great books.  This one I felt was a nice break, I think I enjoyed it largely because I needed a break from Super heros and ulltra graphic indy books some times.  For that reason I'm going to keep pulling it, at least for now.  Any other recommendations that stray from the Supes?  I like Ex Machina, I liked the Unbrella Acdemy (sad that it is over), I'm enjoying Black Summer (sort of a heros gone bad book) and Kick Ass looks like it will be good too.  Don't get me wrong I like the Super heros ...my favs are New Avengers, Iron Fist, Green Arrow & Black Canary, and Allstar Batman and Robin to name a few.

Glad to see you guys read our reveiws.  I'm looking forward to the next podcast.  Great pick guys and I too agree with Kick Ass as pick of the week.

Hi Ron, you're right I should have given some reasons why I hated it.  So here goes:

The art was horrible.  Wasn't Jonah a prisoner in the last issue, of which most folks thought it was written much better.  I'm not alone in my dislike of this issue check the comments.  Another problem is that I wasn't pulled into the story mainly because the dialogue felt like a spaghetti western or worse.  The use of American Indians in this issue could have been much better, I mean come on portraying them as savages has already been done a zillion times.  If the writter had just stretched his imagination some then he'd find that there is a plethera of ways to potray American Indians.  This issue was like beating a dead horse (pardon the pun) I'm really was not concerned that he was captured, same old thing written in a really poor way.  I just felt like it was worth a "D" verses an "A".  Think about the those books that are A material and then honestly look at this story, it's just plan sit com quality at best.

March 11, 2008 10:22 am Right, it's kind of like witnessing a car accident.  It gives you that sinking feeling but you watch any way.  Although I LOVE Black Summer...have you guys ever reviewed that book.  What are your feelings on it?
March 9, 2008 5:16 pm This book was awful.  I hated it, thankfully I've read other Hex books or I would have never consider it again.  Yeah, it was that bad.

I'm poor and I have you to blame for these purchases:

League of Ex. Gentlemen Vol. I;  LOEG the Black Dossier; Marvels; Sin City Hard Goodbye.  All of these are fantastic.  Thankfully I had some of the others you recommended or I would be with out electricity.  lol

Seriosuly thanks for the great advice.
